"Five years have passed.
I am now an official doctor. I have fulfilled my dreams and promises to myself. I haven't heard any news about Dark, but I see him in magazines and on TV. He has become famous.
He now has many companies, and I am proud of him. I still have communication with my friends, who are now doctors like me. We are all busy with our work here.
"Ms. Rodriguez? The Philippines needs some doctors, and you are being sent there," our manager suddenly said.
"Fix yourself tomorrow, you have a flight," he said, handing me a brown envelope. I just nodded at him and went to my office to pack my things.
After I finished packing, I took my bag and left my office, heading to the parking lot. I got into my car and drove home.
"Mama!" the playful child shouted at me.
I smiled sweetly at her and she ran towards me, hugging me tightly. I carried her inside, and I immediately saw my family there.
I kissed my parents on the cheek and said goodbye to them before going up to my room. I packed my things and took a quick shower before changing into comfortable clothes. Then, I went out of my room.
We chatted and laughed together until it got late. They decided to have dinner here, so my mom cooked a lot of food.
-THE NEXT DAY-
I woke up early because today was the day I would leave. I wore a black skirt, a white t-shirt, and a long brown coat before going downstairs with my suitcase.
"You're leaving, dear," Mommy said. I just smiled at her and gave her a sweet smile. I hugged her, as well as Daddy, Kuya, his wife, and the playful child. I would miss them all.
I joined them for breakfast before saying goodbye and leaving. I arrived at the airport and boarded the plane, closing my eyes.
I woke up from the shaking. I opened my eyes and saw the flight attendant. I apologized before getting off the plane with my suitcase.
The hot temperature of the Philippines greeted me. I closed my eyes for a moment and then posted on my i********: that I was on the plane. I waited for a while, and then a taxi stopped. I told the driver the name of our village.
I got in.
-FAST FORWARD-
We arrived in front of our mansion. I paid the driver and looked at our beautiful mansion. Nothing had changed. The gatekeeper opened the gate, and I hugged him. I entered and was greeted by our housekeeper, who ran towards me and hugged me tightly. She even cried.
"You're so beautiful, my child," she said to me, making me laugh softly at her.
"You too, Manang," I replied. I said my goodbyes and went up to my room. I unpacked and took a shower before lying down on my soft bed. I didn't realize that I fell asleep.
-THE NEXT DAY-
I woke up to the sunlight hitting my face. I got up and went straight to the bathroom to take a shower. I changed into a white t-shirt and tucked it into my denim skirt that reached above my knees. I put on white shoes and grabbed my shoulder bag before leaving the room.
I was going to meet my friends whom I haven't seen in a long time. I said goodbye to Manang and told her that I would eat at a restaurant today.
"Let's go, Manong," I said to the driver, who was waiting. He nodded before opening the door for me. I got inside and settled in the backseat.
He started driving, and I just looked out the window. It had been a long time since I left. I didn't know if there was anything left for me to come back to. I didn't know. It had been nine years since Dark and I were together, even though I couldn't see him. I celebrated our anniversary alone in Switzerland. I just thought about walking in the park and going on outings with him, but it's different when you're with the person you love. You can hold and kiss them.
Many people also courted me in Switzerland, but I'm sorry to them because my heart belongs to someone I don't know if we're still together. I don't know either.
"We're here, miss," Manong said, interrupting my deep thoughts.
I just smiled at him and got out of the car. He opened the door for me, and I took my shoulder bag before entering. Their attention was on me, but I just ignored them. I saw the two of them laughing and chatting, so I approached them.
"Hi," I greeted them, causing them to pause and look at me.
"Oh my gosh! Ellise!" Ellaine screamed, making me laugh at her.
They both hugged me tightly.
"I can't breathe," I said to them, and they laughed even more.
The three of us sat down together.
"How have you been? It's been a long time," Xyrene said.
"I'm okay. I'm now an official doctor," I said to them.
"Wow, you're so beautiful, girl. Can you donate some of that to me?" Xyrene said, making me laugh at her.
"Yes, you're so fair-skinned and beautiful
"So... how are you and your boyfriends?" I asked them.
"Well! Jaydon and I are doing great. We've been together for 8 years," Ellaine replied, making me smile at her words.
"As for me, Liam and I are okay. We have our arguments, but we always work things out," Xyrene added. I couldn't help but feel a bit envious of their relationships.
"What about you? How are you and Dark?" they both asked simultaneously. Wow, they really do speak at the same time.
"I don't know," I said to them, taking a bite of my food. Our orders just arrived, and I was hungry.
We continued talking, and their boyfriends weren't with them because they had a meeting.
"I'm sorry, babe, I'm late," someone suddenly said. He kissed Ellaine on the cheek, and I already knew who it was.
"Right? You said you had a meeting. Who is it?" he asked, looking at me. He was surprised when he saw me.
"Ellise?" he asked, pointing at me in surprise.
I just smiled and nodded at him. He hugged me, and I couldn't help but laugh and hug him back. We sat down and talked and laughed together.
"Hey, hon, I'm sorry the meeting just finished," someone else suddenly appeared.
"No, it's okay," Xyrene replied.
"Hey, dude, you're here too?" Jaydon asked, looking at me. I just nodded at him, and he turned his gaze towards me. His smile turned into surprise as he looked at me.
"Ellise?" he said, as if he had seen a ghost. I just smiled at him and nodded.
I approached him and hugged him. Wow, they both became even more handsome, I promise. Their glow-up was amazing. They became bigger and their shoulders became broader.
We sat down and talked.
"Why are you sending me here? It's like being the third wheel with the four of you now. I'm busy, don't be naughty," the newcomer said, sounding irritated. That's when I saw Dark, still in his business attire. He looked even hotter now, and he became even more handsome. I stood up from my seat.
"Hi," I greeted him. He looked at me, surprised. I chuckled softly at his reaction and quickly kissed his cheek, making his ears and face turn red.
"s**t! Love," he said loudly, causing everyone to look at us.
He quickly hugged me tightly, not wanting to let go.
He kissed me passionately on the lips.
"Hey, that's enough," Jaydon suddenly said, separating us.
After that moment, we just sat there, talking and laughing, while this guy kept his arm around my waist.
