"Savannah? Why the hell don't you have pants on?"
I blushed as I looked down at my bare legs. I could practically feel the anger radiating off of Raymond, Nolan quiet right beside him.
I quickly lifted up the hem of the oversized sweat shirt showing everyone the old track shorts that had been hidden.
"Gosh! Relax! I'm not naked." I told him.
I could see Raymond relaxing and the tension releasing from his body.
"Oh."
"I have books to hit." I spoke as I hastily grabbed my bowl of cereal wanting to create as much distance between myself and Trace before Raymond got anymore ideas.
I walked past Raymond and Nolan quickly but I had hardly gotten to the door before I heard Raymond call me back.
"Sav?"
I paused and turned around.
"Yeah?"
He ran a hand over his golden locks identical to mine and let out a sigh.
"Listen, I know you're still pissed at us but we kinda promised Jade that we'd host her sorority's Toga party here tonight."
I stilled.
Jade Summers was Raymond's on again off again fling who liked to believe she was his girlfriend. I think part of her actually believed Raymond would get over his committment issues and settle down with her one day.
In her dreams.
Anyway she was the captain of the cheerleading squad and always seemed to go where Raymond went like a groupie.
She was also Nicole's best friend.
My eyes flickered to Nolan who had been quiet uncharacteristically quiet thus far.
If Jade's sorority was having a party, Nicole would definitely be here too.
Other than than the fact that I didn't want a bunch of horny young adults in my house making a whole bunch of noise and creating a mess I would have to clean up by myself tomorrow. I also didn't like the idea of having Nicole here. She had seen Nolan kiss me. What if she let it slip to Raymond?
"A party?" Trace pipped up loudly reminding all of us that he was still here. "Sounds smashing! Can't wait!"
Trace gave me a knowing look and I was immediately reminded of the bet we had made only a few seconds ago.
Raymond didn't pay him much attention and raised his brows at me. "What do you say, Sav?"
His voice already sounded dejected like he knre my answer would be no.
I could practically feel Trace's eyes boring into me.
I tightened my hands around my bowl so much I thought it would break.
Come on Sav, you can do this.
I turned to my brother and forced a strained smile.
"Okay."
Nolan and Raymond's mouths both dropped, both of them hanging open.
"Okay?" Nolan repeated slowly.
I cleared my throat and nodded trying not to show how anxious I already felt.
"Okay. A toga party with half naked strangers in my house sounds fun." I tried not to sound too sarcastic.
Nolan and Raymond shared a look before staring at me.
"Who are you and what have you done with Savannah?"
I rolled my eyes and turned to leave. "Haha. Just try to keep it down. The neighbours can still file noise complaints."
Just then, when I was about to finally make my escape so that I could bang my head on the wall in peace, Raymond spoke again.
"Oh and I'm inviting Rose."
I froze again. I could practically feel myself about to explode.
Every single bit of me wanted to march up to Raymond and tell him to stay the hell away from my precious and innocent best friend.
But I could pracatically feel Trace's eyes boring into my back just daring me to lose.
I swallowed hard and forced my self to remain composed as I turned around and forced a smile at Raymond.
"No biggie."
I walked away wanting to claw my nails into the wall.
As I left, I heard Nolan whispering to Raymond, "what the hell is going on with her?"
