“Daphne!”
“Jeremy!” I growled at him as he teased me, calling me by the name ‘Daphne’ as we walked in the hallway of our office. I heard him laughing, catching up to me because he had to stop when my teammate had to ask him about the project.
“Daphne?” Paul raised his eyebrows, and then his eyes squinted at Jeremy.
“Oh! It’s a long story, Paul,” I said as I walked toward Paul and then stopped in front of him. He did not embrace me, but I caught him smiling, glancing at my flat belly and then looking at my face.
“How was your day?” he asked me, giving Jeremy a quick look, who slightly nodded his head, greeting him and walking past us to go to his office.
