“Max? Who’s Max?” Jeremy asked, lifting my chin to see my face. “Is he the man on the Jeep?” He looked at me worriedly. I shook my head, and another pool of tears rolled in my eyes. I could not even understand why I was crying. All I know is my heart is in so much pain that I had to cry to lessen the pain. Paul must have thought I was crazy, but he stayed quiet, and he had already gone out of the car and went to the driver’s seat.
