“Where have you been?” Ms. Xana asked, smiling sweetly and excitedly as she walked in our direction.
Jeremy opened his mouth, and then he forced a smile on his lips, not answering her questions. I could imagine it was difficult for him to talk after our long minutes of crying together on the balcony.
Paul smiled at her. “You know these two, Xana. Inseparable,” he said, pulling me closer to him. “They’re with me in the library,” he lied, squeezing my upper arm, causing me to force a smile.
“We had so much fun, Mr. Zu-en. Thank you for opening your house to us.” She said as she looked at him admiringly. She extended her arms, reading for Jeremy, and I breathed in relief when he took her hand.
