My smartphone’s alarm was making a shrilling sound that woke me up. Still half-asleep, I reached for my phone on the side table and slid my finger on the screen to keep it quiet. I breathed out and then remembered what happened last night. I heaved a deep sigh, feeling down early in the morning despite the wonderful time with Paul. It would have been intense, magical, and intoxicating if Jeremy hadn’t kissed me yesterday. I opened my eyelids and thought about whether Paul was bluffing about the punishment, but I guess no god would lie about it, but he must have forgiven me after our fantastic night.
