she sat forward as to be sure she had heard right.
' I am sorry but Mr Gray that will not happen' she said.
" Fine, I agree," her father suddenly said.
she turned to look at him, her face a mixture of surprise, shock, and disappointment.
" she will do it," her father said again
" I will not do it," she returned back at him, looking from him to John.
" it will only be for a short a while, my dear," John said.
" A year is all I need"
" just marry him for a year. Try to tame this wildness in him. He really has no regards for life and respects nobody"
" I am so sorry, Mr Grey,but if you need help raising your son, I am not the right person for this job. make check him in to rehab or put him in prison"
Mr Gray shook his head.
'Emmet is my only son and heir. He changed since his brother died. He was not always like this. He has been so angry with everyone including him self. I need you to convince him to move on and forgive himself. that is all I ask of you."
" I still don't think I can do it"
" you can, your father thinks highly of you,he tells me you are the reason he still works so hard."

" if you want to help your family, this is the only way you can "
" just marry him for a year. I will clear your father's debt and buy his company. All you have to do is marry my son. if he still does not change after a year, the contract and the marriage will be annulled and you can leave if you want to."
she was still adamant. she shook her head severally to show her refusal.
Her father reached for her hand then
" Anna please, I need this,the family needs this. just for a year, I promise " he begged her so profusely her heart began to melt.
" we will be evicted from our residence if we do not settle our debts."
" please Anna"
she could not believe the words her father was saying to her.
How could he even be okay with this?
Had they even thought about the possibility of her having a boyfriend. Or of Emmet even having a girlfriend even though she doubted it.
The rumours have it that he is a man w***e. she did not want to judge but she could not fathom such promiscuity. This was total madness. she had never thought or pictured an arranged marriage for her self. But here it was happening right before her eyes.
" Fine,she said,but I have my terms, " she finally said, admitting defeat.
The two men sighed, relieved.
" Let us set up a meeting shall we,at my house?" John said.
" I need Emmet to be present while we draft our contract,"
" I deeply appreciate this," he said to Anna, who was already standing to leave.
She walked out of the office, leaving the two men staring after her.
How was she going to deal with Emmet Grey?
This was too much.

why would John Gray wish to marry off his son to some one he barely knew.
She had heard what a scandalous jerk his son was. And now she's going to be the one to baby him for a whole year. This was really too much for her to bear.
