“I want to remind every United States citizen that we will stop at nothing until Colton Pierce is in our custody,” Ashton Lampson pronounced boldly from behind a podium. A gaggle of news reporters filled the chairs, took pictures, and waited not-so-patiently for Ashton to finish his speech so they could ask questions.
Colton watched all of this on a large projection screen in an underground conference room. He sat next to Selma, Bayard, and Big Al. Aaron, an older man with salt and pepper hair pulled into a ponytail, had brought them to the room and then taken a seat at the head of the old oak table.
“And I would like to remind every United States citizen that all of the Aberrants will be eliminated tomorrow at midnight,” Ashton said. He looked down at some papers on the podium. “
