“I’ve been trying to find you,” Selma said.
Colton intentionally didn’t stop to talk to her but allowed her to walk alongside him as he made his way back to his office on Extraction Deck Four. Ever since his meeting with her in the copy room, he’d made it a point to avoid her. The very idea that she was dating Ashton Lampson tarnished her in a way that Colton probably would have thought impossible a few weeks before; the fact that he’d misread her cues only made it that much worse. So he tried to act nonchalant, uninterested, and busy as he maintained a fairly rapid gait.
