1.1.17 Two hours later, Colton and Selma found themselves walking down the Manhattan Beach pier, each cradling a cup of coffee they’d picked up at Starbucks. Selma had returned from the restroom a bit more composed, a little less flirtatious, but the sense of mutual attraction was still almost palpable. Colton was surprised that everything had gone so well. Selma’s momentary lapse and acknowledgement that she’d “said too much” must have been her wanting to pull back and proceed a little slower; typical of a woman.
