The living room was softly lit, a golden glow from the chandelier above spilling warmth across the marble floor. Outside, the hum of the night breeze filtered through half-drawn curtains, whispering against the windows. Bianca sat quietly on the couch, flipping through a folder of documents. Her hands were steady, but her heart wasn’t. It fluttered—out of fear, or maybe premonition. Suddenly she stops and have some flashback if what life with Daniel used to be like, before the sudden shift. so he was pretending all this while. Daniel was like her peace in time of storm, it all started when he lost her father. She sits alone being worried, She after didn’t hear Daniel come down the stairs until his footsteps echoed in the room. His eyes found her, lingering longer than usual. She offered him a faint smile. He didn’t return it. "Here," Bianca said softly, rising from the couch. She held out an envelope and a booklet labeled “New Rules.” Daniel looked at her, confused. Slowly, he took the documents from her hands. He blinked at the appointment letter. "Wait… are you serious?" he asked, barely able to believe what he was reading. Bianca nodded. “Yes. I’m serious,” she said, her voice low but firm. “Here’s your appointment letter for the CEO position... and the company’s new rules.” For a beat, Daniel just stared at the papers, his mind struggling to comprehend the gravity of what he was holding. Then suddenly, he rushed forward and pulled her into a tight hug. "I can’t believe this!" he said, his voice trembling with joy. “You’ve made all my dreams come true, Bianca. Thank you—thank you so much!” Bianca smiled, but the warmth never reached her eyes. “Please don’t make me regret this.” “I promise I won’t let you down,” Daniel said earnestly, hugging her again. “I love you so much.” “I love you too,” she whispered. They sat there, wrapped in silence. Daniel beamed with pride. Bianca wore a smile—but it was one she forced.
