Black set his eyes on that Pidgey as he slowly trailed it as it flew from tree to tree. Pidgeys were known in the Pokémon world for their ability to grow fast and therefore was a first capture for many Pokémon trainers who were just starting out on the Journeys. Pidgeys which were known for their plentiful colonies all across the Kanto and Johto region but somehow they weren't found in the Hoenn region and the others.

This was simply because they could only fly over small areas, It would take a Pidgey a large amount of time to fly from the Kanto or Johto region to the Hoenn region. Pidgeys also had beaks which they used to eat through their prey, Caterpies.

A Pidgeys signature move was Tackle which was used in almost every battle it participated in. It's evolutions: Pidgeotto and Pidgeot are known for their beautiful and elegant appearance.

As Black chased after Pidgey, It seemed to notice Black and dive down to attack him. Black quickly rolled to the side, narrowly evading Pidgey before sending out Froakie.

“Froakie use Bubble!” Black ordered. Froakie began blasting Pidgey with bubbles but Pidgey dodged them easily, signifying it had a higher battle experience than Froakie.

“Now use Quick Attack!” Black ordered. Froakie ran at full speed and tackled Pidgey but Pidgey struck back with Tackle.

Pidgey was a male so it was defiant, Also keep in mind that Males were harder to train than females because they refused to listen to their trainers unless they respected them.

Black threw a Pokéball for an attempt at capturing the Pokémon but Pidgey broke out of the Pokéball. It hadn't be weakened at all.

“Quick Attack at all sides!” was Black's next attack. Froakie ran around Pidgey and began attacking at all sides, because of its speed, It was almost like it was attacking all sides at the same time. It overwhelmed Pidgey and Pidgey was immediately sent into a tree by Froakie's last attack.

Black threw a Pokéball and captured Pidgey.

“Pidgey has been registered to your Pokédex,” The Pokédex reported. Black breathed a sigh of relief,

'That was hard,' He thought.

He had thought Pidgey would be easy to capture like their Video game or Anime counterparts but he never expected it to be this hard, The scouter had a decent report for it.

[The higher the power level, The harder it is to defeat and capture Pokémon]

Pidgey's data was shown.

“Pidgey, A Normal/Flying type Pokémon . Pidgey is a small, plump bodied-avian Pokémon. It is primarily brown with a cream colored face, underside and flight feathers. On top of its head is a short crest of three tufts. The center crest feathers are brown and the outer two tufts are cream colored. Just under its crest are its narrow eyes which have white sclera and pupil along black irises. Angular black marking extend from its eyes and continue down its cheeks. It has a short, subby beak and feet with two toes in front and one in the back. Both its beaks and feet are a grayish-pink. It has a short, brown tail made of three feathers.

Pidgey has an extremely sharp sense of direction and homing instincts. It can travel straight back to its nest regardless of how far away they might have flown. It is a docile Pokémon and generally prefers to flee from its enemies rather than fight them. By flapping its wings rapidly, it can whip up dust clouds and create whirlwinds to protect itself and flush out potential prey. It's signature move is Feather dance. Pidgey is very common throughout its range and can often be seen in meadows and temperate forests. Ekans and Sneasel are natural predators of Pidgey. Pidgey preys on Seedot and Caterpie extensively.” The Pokédex reported.

There was so much information on Pidgey that Black nearly understood the biology of this Pokémon.

Black nodded before picking up Pidgey and returning Froakie, He still had a lot to learn but he knew one thing, This 'SCOUTER' was much like a System, if not a System in its own way...

The lush city of Viridian Forest came into view as Black walked down the road to the Pokémon center, His first trainer battles had gone well and he had made off with a considerable amount of Pokédollars.

“What the hell do they design in the Pokémon games, The lowest amount bet on a Pokémon battle is 1000 Poké?” Black muttered as he thought of healing his Pokémon.

Although capturing a Pokémon in a Pokéball made them more tame, It didn't mean that they would obey you. When Black sent out Pidgey, Pidgey didn't bother to obey as it didn't respect Black. It won based on its own battle power which was considerably high.

The Pokémon on Route 1 had the highest power level of 5 while the Trainers had a power level of 10. Black was on the average.

As he opened the door of the Pokémon center, something unexpected happened...
