Summer Knight blurted out, her tone more stubborn than convincing.
Alexander Barron had long gotten used to her temper, so he didn't bother arguing.
"As long as you're not." He pulled her a bit closer into his arms.
Wrapped in his embrace, Summer didn’t feel like pushing him away. It was quiet, calm—something she could enjoy for a moment.
They stayed like that until she let out a soft pout.
"Alex, you can let go of me now, okay?"
He reluctantly loosened his hold.
