chapter 7: kidnapped

Emerald woke up to find Jason sitting on the cushion beside the hospital bed, eyes fixed on the screen of his tablets.

"Jason......."she grumbled.

Jason turned hearing her faint voice as he rushed to sit on the hospital bed assisting her up with a pillow.

"you're okay?" He asked feeling her temperature.

"hmmm"she replied.

"you sure?"

"yep, I'm okay"

"The doctor is busy said to take your drug after diner....." he said.

"Dinner!" she screamed realizing it's dark already.

"yes,you slept for a long time "

"How's Lynda?"

"she's fine " Jason replied "Already sent her home"

"oh!"she sighed. " I wanna use the restroom" Emerald said getting up as Jason rushed to her side to assist her, she got up and walked towards the exit.

"where are you going?, there's a restroom here" Jason said.

" I wanna take a walk also....."

"let me join you"Jason interrupted.

"No, I'll be fine" she said and walked out as Jason sighed at the slammed door and continued his work.

Emerald walked through the hallway of the hospital that seems quiet because of the lateness as she walked into the garden to catch a glimpse of flowers she felt a hand round her neck then a gag before she could say jack..... she fainted.

Jason looked up from his work after a long time realising emerald hadn't come back.He stood up hoping to join her in her walk .

He walked into the garden that seems no sight of her.He searched other places in the hospital but couldn't find her. He started to call her phone as it rang repeatedly before it was finally picked.

"Dear Jason....." The thick voice ran through the phone's speaker.

"Xavier!" Jason answered.

"Thought I could play some childish game with you but you're quick in figuring me out" Xavier said.

"whatever s**t you're pulling Xavier,let it be between me and you" Jason said softly.

"You and I know there's no business between us, Jason .The business is between me her" Xavier replied.

" What businesses?" Jason asked sternly.

"I like her just like you do" Xavier cornered.

" you don't like her, you're doing this to pay me back for what happened between us in college" Jason replied pacing around.

***FLASH BACK***

"Jason!,how dare you?!" Xavier yelled rushing to grab Jason's collar firmly.

"You've gone mad Xavier" Jason said in his usual stiff and cool composion.

"How could you do this behind my back?" Xavier fired.

"You need bleating just tell me what I did...." Jason was unable to finish as series of punch landed on his cheeks.xavier sprang him on his feet as he hitted his back on the floor. He tried to get up but Xavier got on top of him and starts to punch him mercilessly.

"forget about it Xavier and leave this chap alone" Max said pulling Xavier off Jason as Xavier got up he smacked Max chest and angrily walked away.

"what the heck is he talking about?" Jason asked accepting Max's hand as he stood up.

"Anita Thornton " max answered

"What about that nerd?"Jason asked

"she's Xavier's girlfriend "

"How's that to do with me?"

"we played a bet on her " Max replied.

"what?"still that doesn't concern me you better explain better max and stop picking words" Jason yelled.

Alex and I had a bet involving her — it was about getting her disvirgin. Max started . "Didn’t I tell you not to play those stupid games anymore?"

Jason spoked.

. "We used your name".

"What?" Jason called out, "How could you?" He grabbed Xavier by the collar and raised his fist to punch him, but stopped halfway when he heard Max say, "If you punch me, you’re not getting my sister."

Max said it coolly, his eyes locked on Jason’s. He forced Jason’s hand off his collar, smirked, and walked away.

"Ah!!!"Jason yelled out angrily.

***FLASH BACK ENDs***

"Anita is dead to me now ,I have seen Emerald, she's like the goddess of beauty". Xavier laughed.

"You took Anita, I'll take Emerald.such a direct business" Xavier said.

"You wanted trouble Xavier, I'll give it to you not my Emerald" Jason smirked hanging up the phone...
