CASSIE'S POV
When Marga reached out to me I was shocked and then confused. She might have been my brother's girlfriend but we hardly talked. My brother and I barely spoke.
She as a super model, I was an average student. So I was even more confident when she said she needed me to take a message Daelan.
Obviously, I wanted nothing to do with him after he had left me to face mom and dad alone. The dinner had been too awkward after he left but I was too much of a good girl to leave like he did. So I stayed facing all their criticism and nit-picking and now I have to find him.
After calling his phone several times and getting no reply I headed down to the ice rink in hopes of meeting him there. Sandra had let it slip that they normally trained in the morning on Saturdays. I had spent three hours searching for him and I left the cold building frustrated and aching.
While I gave myself a lesson on saying no to people, my eyes caught sight of a familiar head. Clutching the arms of my bag I crossed over to the other side of the street pushing the bar door open.
"Surprise finding you here," his back tensed. Slowly he turned to me and my eyes widened at the sight of his face. His nose had a small yet noticeable cut, and the areas around it were a shade of dark purple
"What the f**k happened," I bit my tongue as his eyes darkened but it was already to late.
"What are you doing here?" He asked and I took the seat next him instead. "I asked the question first, spill," he brought the shot glass to his lips and i pulled it out of is grip.
"If you came here to piss me off. Get out," Normally I'd shrink at his tone but i stared at him in shock.
“Are you okay?" His shoulder felt my words and I felt a faint tug in my chest. “I got into a fight,' he whispered and a gasp left my lips.
“You don't fight,” I observed flatly. Daelan never fought well, at least in a fist fight.
Not because he couldn't, I mean his was six foot four inches and probably weighed about two hundred. He was surely going to win. But he always found it as a waste of time.
"So what was so bad you had to go back on your moral," i asked, my eyes piqued up in curiosity. Daelan gave me an odd look and i couldn't place the emotion behind his heavy eyes.
"Why are you here, raven," he asked, his voice hoarse and I breath hitched. That nickname. He had only ever called me that. The memories threatened to flood in but I shook my head pushing them back
"Well your girlfriend gave me this," I explained, pulling out a small velvet box. It looked like a jewelry box but i had been too busy to take a closer look. I stretched my hand, waiting of him to take it but he just stared at it with hate.
"Throw it away," he leaned in taking a sip of his liquor and i just watch confused.
"You didn't even open it. Are you guys fighting?” i asked as i placed the box in my bag, my curiosity getting the better of me.
"We broke up," If I wasn't blown by his words, i was now. They had been dating for the past one year and even my parents liked her and now they were no more?
"Wow, what happened?" I asked hoping he would at least disclose a hint but he only watched me. An idea poped up and I pulled out a bandage from my bag placing it on the cut on his nose. He stared at me with a scowl and was about to pull it off when I held his hand down. You can't just do that.
"Keep the bandage on," I yelled with pleading eyes. He let out a frustrated breath but kept. We started in silence for a while until Daelan broke it. “Marga cheated on me," the words left his lips and my phone dropped to the table.
The bar tender slid another shot towards Daelan and he took it down it in one swing. He already look wasted enough and the day had not even started.
"More," he yelled and the guy behind the counter gave me a look before pouring him another shot. He slid it towards Dealan but I took hold of it the same time he did.
Our hands brushed and a sudden spark ran through me, catching me off guard
My heart raced as I watched him lean in. Memories of last year filled my head and I slowly swallowed. "Let go," he whispered against my ear but my grip only tightened.
"You already look wasted enough and it's just ten in the morning," I scolded, trying to talk some sense into him but he only stared back with annoyance.
"Give me that shot, if you can't watch me drink. Get out," he shot back pulling me to his side. My chest twisted at hisworfs and I let go of the glass. The drink spilled on him and he let out profanities.
"Wyat the f**k is wrong with you," daelan yelled and my eyes widened. I had lived with him for two years and he had never cursed.
"I'm sorry, okay, I'll clean you up." Before he could argue I dragged him to the bathroom. He stood awkwardly as I dampened a napkin.
I dabbed at the spill, hoping to lift the stain, but it only spread, darkenung the fabric "It's fine the shirt is ruined."
"No, I should be able to get some off," I tried to convince him but he only scoffed. I lifted my head to tell him off but I froze when I realised how close we were. His eyes fell on my lips and I sucked in air as he leaned in.
