DAELAN'S POV. The tequila warmed my throat as I tipped the shot glass back, savoring the heat as it settled low in my stomach. The music was loud but not obnoxious, thumping just enough to remind me where we were. And the bar lights shifted in color above our heads, like a dull haze washing over the place. Vincent was seated at my left, scrolling through his phone, while Josh was next to him, already halfway into his second drink and grinning like the liquor had untied his tongue. "Man.." He exhaled, leaning into the counter. "you know what's messed up?" He didn’t wait for us to respond as he went on. "I saw her again." "Who?" Vincent raised a brow. "My neighbor. The one I told you about." I took another sip, already seeing where this was going as he continued, his voice lowered.
