Sandy and I stepped out of the college gates as my eyes caught a scene across the parking area. At first, I didn’t think much of it until I saw him. Daelan. He was standing with some girl, leaning slightly toward her as if he was trying to explain something important. I slowed my steps without realizing it as my gaze fixed on the way his expression shifted between urgency and something softer, almost pleading. My stomach twisted.
