Daelan’s POV It was just concern. That’s all. I kept telling myself that. I mean, come on,, any decent person would’ve stopped. She was sitting there like some drenched stray, a soaked box beside her, looking like she'd just been kicked out of her place and made to walk away. I wasn’t made of stone. And yeah, she was technically the daughter of my father’s wife. Not like I’d ever signed up for that arrangement or was starting to accept the mother and daughter. Still, human decency or whatever.
