As she contemplated telling Dante about this,a knock sounded on the door.
Renee put away her phone and walked up to open the door.
Dante had brought her a cup of milk.
“Drink this and go to bed early,okay?”
“Okay.”
He turned around to leave but she stopped him in a hurry.
“Allegra and I are taking extra classes.We may have to stay back in school so I’ll come back late in the evening.”
“Late?How late?So I can know when to pick you up.”
“You don’t have to pick me up.Allegra has a car and she would give me a ride home.”
Dante nodded.”Alright.I also have a lot on my plate at work.Call me if you need me.”
Renee was relieved that he believed that.
The next morning,she went downstairs for breakfast and found two batteries on the table.
