“I must return to work. Isabella will be finishing her school shortly," Maria begins to clean up from our lunch and I notice the time as well.
“Oh, shoot, yeah I have to go too I have my first one-on-one with my boss," I explain and Maria looks confused.
“With Lucas?"
“Ah, no," I laugh a little. “I guess he is technically my boss as well but no. I'm working for my dad's company as well."
“Oh, okay," Maria still looks confused but she doesn't ask any more questions. I don't want to be late so I don't offer any other information.
I say goodbye to Maria and confirm that I will come fetch Isabella in the morning to spend the day together. It is still raining but there are plenty of raincoats and umbrellas placed neatly by the door. I search for one with no name claiming it, then I dash
