Chapter 5

Sorren’s POV

“You're very bold, coming into my pack like this.” Alpha Harrison said as we walked into his pack comfortably. We were escorted by several guards, and I held the lady close to myself because I wasn't going to let her go regardless of the circumstance.

Everyone whispered words to them as they weaved a path for us while we walked in. There were murmurs all around, and Alpha Harrison sat on what was supposed to be a throne.

“I should be outside checking the area out.” Khalid said through a mind link, dropping the dead body of the guy that had chased the omega.

“You even killed my man!” Alpha Harrison growled, and I saw a flint of anger in his eyes.

“He annoyed me, and I couldn't stand him anymore.” I growled, not wavering from the stare we were locked in.

“I'd like to know what caused his death.” Harrison said.

“We were over at the border preparing to leave the neighbouring pack of my friend, and then I saw her running…” I simply told him what had happened, but he still seemed angry.

“Do you realize what disturbance you have caused by…”

“How much will you accept for the one I killed, and the omega I'm carrying.” I said, and he immediately kept quiet.

“That's not an omega, that's a rogue, and I'm not so interested in selling her off.” Alpha Harrison shot back at me.

“I don't care if she's a rogue. I only brought her here as a form of showing courtesy. You either sell her to me, or I leave here with her. Either way, I'll have her.” I said, almost rage baiting him. I was hoping he'd take the bait and try to duel me. Maybe I'd end the troubles of several wolf packs to come by killing this one.

“This is too much for a worthless rogue.” He scoffed, shaking his head.

“Name your price.” I said again, tired of arguing endlessly.

“Five hundred thousand dollars.” He growled.

“Done.”

His eyes widened as he didn't expect that I'd give in so quickly.

“And the condition that you spend the night here.” He said, and I shook my head vehemently.

“I have to be back at my pack tonight. I have people waiting for me.” I said with a straight face.

His mate, a beautiful and stunning woman walked in to sit beside him. There was finally someone who could speak while the two of us spoke.

“Hi, Alpha Sorren.” She said with a smile, whilst she kissed Alpha Harrison. He grabbed her in ways that seemed too much for anyone else to see.

“My beta will pay, and I'll be on my way.” I growled, and he shook his head, leaving Nia, his mate, the Luna of the Stone Creek pack.

“Why are you in such a hurry?” Nia asked.

“You should stay a night at least, to seal the interesting deal we just made.” Harrison growled.

I didn't respond since repeating myself just annoyed me more.

“I'll pay double, but I'll leave tonight.” I growled, and he scoffed.

“Triple.” He bargained.

“Done.” I said, and murmurs rippled through the room.

“You seem to be spending a lot of money on a worthless rogue.” Nia scoffed, rolling her eyes.

“I don't pay for worthless beings.” I growled at her, and she hissed.

“I'll be on my way out.” I turned back, and I was on my way out when I saw someone walk in. She bore resemblance to the rogue I was carrying.

I shook her off my mind, and I made my way out. I couldn't shake the feeling that Nia would follow behind me.

“Sorren.” She called gently, and I immediately stopped walking. I closed my eyes, holding the rogue close to my chest.

“What do you want, Nia?” I asked, turning back.

“Is she your mate?” Nia asked, almost looking jealous.

“I rejected her.”

“Why are you buying her then?” She asked, folding her arms.

“Why is that any of your business?” I asked and she got speechless.

“You're right. Have a nice night.” Nia said, turning back.

“Wait.” I growled, and she turned back slowly, folding her arms.

Khalid walked out of the hall, looked at Nia, and then at me, asking if I needed help. I shook my head and he walked away to get the car.

“You know that Harrison will eventually come for your head.” Nia sounded concerned.

“I'd like to see him try.” I scoffed, hissing.

My phone rang almost immediately, buzzing in my pockets. I couldn't reach in for it because I was carrying the rogue.

“Don't worry.” Nia muttered, reaching into my pockets for the phone. I felt a tingling sensation as her hand wandered around my pocket for a while.

She eventually picked up the call and pressed the phone against my face.

“Thalos.” She whispered, and I nodded.

“Alpha.” His rough voice came through, and I prepared myself for whatever he was about to drop on me.

“What's going on?” I asked, and he sighed.

“There's fire on the mountain.”

“I've told you severally not to speak in parables with me. Stop beating around the bush and hit the nail on the f*****g head.” I snapped harshly. I was a little extra, but does it matter?

“The prophecy I told you about years ago has surfaced again. I think k she's here.” Thalos said, sounding mysterious. Khalid arrived with the car at the same time.

“You've prophesied quite a number of times in just three months and I can't even remember them.” I sighed. “Who's here, Thalos?”

“The ruin or the salvation of the wolf world. She's here.” He said, and I felt a chill run down my spine as I remembered the exact prophecy.

“THE FACELESS LUNA IS HERE.”
