“Father… You've done a great service to the country, but now you'll rest in peace.
You'll find the end, where you'll eternal put all of your problems away.
You'll be missed daddy. We will all miss you. We will remember what you did for this country and I promise I'll avenge you…"
…
Everyone was gathered around for the death of William L. Shakespeare.
Soldiers aligned giving an entrance to her daughter and son to see his casket one last time before he gets buried into the ground.
Every soldier here has a straight face, which is kind of impressive that they can keep their emotions to themselves, but it would be nice if they showed little empathy at least for what William has done for the country.
“Hey Brooklyn, you alright?”
“Oh, uhm, it's alright brother. I'm just… thinking about lots of things right now.”
“I understand. I too will miss father. He has done so many things for us, but yet there's no hiding from the people who oppose him. He lived a short life, and I hope he finds and meets god to tell him the good deeds he has done.”
Brooklyn stood beside the soldiers once she was near her father's casket as a few men were getting out of a black limbo.
Generals, and close friends and allies of William. There's a lot of them, meaning he has done a lot of goods as a soldier and a man.
Then there's a robot that came out of the limo as well. It's a lady robot, but it seems to be old and was deactivated a long time ago, but it looks like only for this purpose, the robot gets to see its creator one last time before she gets deactivated for all eternity.
The generals bowed at the brother and then saluted Brooklyn, which she saluted them back.
"Your father… He is a nice man. I'm glad you have at least spent time with him for a few years before this day came. I give you my condolences.”
Brooklyn nods as she takes a pistol out and gives it to the general she's talking to, which he takes and wents to her father's casket where he puts the gun on top of a bouquet of blue and red flowers.
Brooklyn watched as his father was getting respect by his close comrades and high soldiers in rank.
It warms her heart at least to see that this place is full of people who cared for William. It's always heartwarming to see everyone you know and love visit your grave, considered as a final wish.
The brother paid his respects as well to his father before walking to Brooklyn and guiding her to his casket where she would for the final time touch her father's casket before he gets buried in the ground forever..
…
Brooklyn sees the badges and awards his father has been given on top of the bouquet of flowers to show what service he has done for America.
All of it, known to man.
It's not even a month yet, but she already misses her father.
Losing someone is equivalent to losing yourself. If someone does it's almost like you lose some part of yourself as well.
The robot or known as Test 59 was looking at the casket and looking at Brooklyn.
[Who does this casket belong to? And why am I needed here? Aren't I retired? Aren't I unavailable? Aren't I broken?]
Brooklyn nods as she looks up at the sky before looking at the deteriorating robot.
[Well, you're the only working project dad has in store, so as a last surviving robot on our side, you get the honor of paying your respects to your creator. My dad.]
[Your father. What has happened to him? Do not tell me, he's in the casket right now, not moving, no heartbeat. No pulse?]
Brooklyn nods as she pats the robot on its shoulder.
[I don't know about you, but losing him feels like a knife wound right to my chest. But for you, I think you'll accept it. You're just a robot after all.]
…
[No. I'm not just a bot. I am part human, your father has made me this way, it is… unexplainable to my main frame due to my search mode being disabled and malfunctioned, but I do feel. Just a little bit of course. Your father, it felt like I was his own.
You may not believe me, because I am some kind of tincan, yes? I do not blame you. Humans are really quick to change their minds, they don't often give second chances once one has failed to prove itself.
Only kind hearted people will give someone a second chance, and your father was one of them. After a few major failures from my system, he didn't give up and now I am here, even though I am withered I am still his creation. Almost in one piece.]
…
After hearing that she just left the robot to pay it's respect first before she does.
She wants to have the final respect of his father before he is buried in the ground.
…
After everyone is finished Brooklyn finally takes the front where she puts her hand on her father's casket as she thinks about a couple of things before thanking her father for his service in America.
He'll be remembered throughout history.
She will make that a promise.
…
Brooklyn looks at the casket once more before walking out of the way as she snaps her fingers.
[Please start putting his casket inside the hole.]
The soldiers nod as they all together lift the casket and slowly guide it to the machine where it will be lowered to the hole.
Brooklyn sees the robot being guided back to the limo now, but it looked at Brooklyn like it wanted to tell something first.
She didn't get the memo, but soon enough realized as she quickly ran to those men and stopped them.
[Hold on a minute, let me talk to this bot first before you return her.]
The men nod as they simply turn around to see the casket being lowered.
…
The robot grabs Brooklyn and puts her in a fair distance where no soldiers are nearby.
It looks at them before Brooklyn.
[Listen Daughter of my creator. There is something you need to know. Something important that your father needed to give you just in case you die.]
The robot pulls it's right eye out as it pulls out a microchip inside it as it gives it to her and it inserts it's own eye back to its socket.
[Keep it, Ms Brooklyn. If this were to get handed by the hands of whoever you're opposing as of now, they will have access to your fathers complicated blueprints to make the projects, that includes me.]
[Brooklyn: w...wait. Father is going to give this to me?? B-but why?? I-If anything this should be given to my brother! He's the more responsible one!]
The robot shakes its head as it turns around making sure no one was listening, before it turns to her again.
[Your brother. Your father has suspected him of being part of the enemy contracts. To trade our resources for theirs. He has been doing it for quite a while in discreet ways, he claims, but now that your father is dead, he owns the company now, but he will never get success if you hide that chip from him.
Test 59 starts to play an audio recording and it was a surprise to Brooklyn it was her father's voice, so she listens to it carefully.
[Please, Brooklyn. Keep this like your life depended on it. I can't trust your brother anymore, and you're the only Shakespeare I can trust and believe. I believe in you, Brooklyn-baby. I love you with all my life, and I hope in your heart you can find me as a good father, because I tried. We could've spent more time together, but faith has decided your father's downfall.
I'm sorry for spending so much time on the army rather than with you, I'm sorry, but I guess if you're receiving this message, I have already died. So please baby, be careful. I know you'll miss me, but I will too baby. Goodbye. October 2 2034.
That is the message your father left to me, I hope hearing his voice heals your mentality a little.]
…
Brooklyn cried a little due to his father trusting and putting faith on her for this, but most likely hearing her father's voice for the last time.
After years of thinking that she isn't getting that much attention, this audio feels like it proves it all. He's been silently trusting her.
But for what reason exactly?
Brooklyn tried to ask more questions but the bot made her close her hand where she's handling the chip and it puts her hand in her pocket.
The robot looks at her, nodding.
[Goodluck. Your fathers heritage is in your hands now.]
The robot says as it gets in the limo, and deactivated itself.
Brooklyn looked inside the limo to see a dead robot.
[Oh it's already taken itself to the car, nice job miss Brooklyn.]
…
[Brooklyn: Yes, yes. There's no need for that. Please have a safe trip.]
…
4 hours. It's been four hours, but Brooklyn and his brother are still looking at their fathers grave.
[Sister, are you okay? I know we've been staring at fathers grave for a while, but there's something wrong with you, what is it?]
Brooklyn shakes her head as she opens up an umbrella.
[It's nothing brother, just the feelings of loss. Do you wanna go home now?]
The brother nods.
He looks at the grave of his father before walking to the car.
Brooklyn looks at the grave once more before picking up a white rose that has fallen and places it right next to his grave.
[Brooklyn: I'll promise to keep the heritage for myself, father. No one shall have it other than me. I shall try to fulfill your dying message to me.]
[Hey sister! Let us go already! Much is needed to be done.]
[Brooklyn: Yes yes, I'm coming.]
Brooklyn walked down on the small hill as she got in the backseat of the car as her brother took the front to drive the car.
Brooklyn buckled her seatbelt as she looked at her father's grave once more.
[Shall we go sister?]
…
[Brooklyn: Yes. Let's shall.]
The car starts as it starts to drive away.
Brooklyn pulls out her book and reads, but she's mostly thinking to herself…
What now?
