Knowing her lover was not there, Rose returned to the hut. She quickly reported the incident.
"Ronald, I didn't find Jerry in the apple tree. I only found his shoes. Do you want to help me look for him?" Rose's tone was hopeful. Even though Jerry had been upsetting her lately, she was still worried about him.
Instantly a frown formed on Ronald's face. "That boyfriend of yours is always so troublesome!" Ronald's voice sounded lazy. But, he felt sorry for Rose.
Finally, Ronald agreed. However, instead of just looking for Jerry, he would also continue his journey down the mountain.
