Ronald immediately focused on his hearing. That's because the noise from his friends' conversations in the back, made him unable to realize if there were other sounds coming into his ears. After he looked closely, it was true, the sound of a man screaming for help.
"The owner of the voice seems to be in pain. It also sounds quite far from where we are now."
Audrey nodded as she analyzed what she heard. "Yes Ronald, you're right. Is it possible that a man was kidnapped by robbers?"
"I'm not sure, because it's rare to find cases like that. What I do know is that it's mostly women who are kidnapped. Then, let's listen while we focus on walking." Ronald's footsteps were now moving at their original, moderate pace. Previously, he had been walking slowly out of curiosity about the voice.
