Human females made absolutely no sense. Rynn stood for at least a couple of kilasecs looking at her blankly, completely confused by the human’s reaction to his rescue. He’d thought she would fall, pliant and grateful, into his arms after he’d saved her from the aggressive male and what would undoubtedly have turned into a violent situation. He’d seen males who couldn’t hold their drink before, and usually it led to violence. Normally he wouldn’t have intervened, but there was a female involved. He couldn’t in all conscience allow a woman to be harmed. But, instead of being grateful, she was looking at him like he’d crawled out from under a rock.
