6. He cant stay away

After I made my statement I saw Adam outside the police station and I walked to him, "So did you tell them what happened?" he asked and I nodded. "Yeah, did Brad tell them why Braxton was even there?" I asked folding my arms and Adam frown "Are you seriously protecting that asshole?" he asks me and I look down. "No, but Brad needs to tell the truth, if he just paid what he owned this would not have happened." I say getting angry. "Yeah I know, I don't know what he said to them." "So what you made an assault complaint?" I ask, and he nods, "I did he could have killed me Abigail." he said getting annoyed, and I rolled my eyes. "Okay, well see you later." I say walking away. "Did you tell them that you know where he lives?" he asked me and I turn around and glare at him. "I am sure they know where he lives." I say walking to my car, "he is not a good guy Abby, and you will see that." he said, and I ignored him and walked to my car and drove home.

I was bored and decided to see what asshole my mother had. I walked to the cupboard and saw a bottle of tequila and I took it. They wouldn't miss it anyway. I sat and drank 3 shots. I know its bad if you drink alone, but I am bored and pissed at my life. I just want to forget who I am for one day. My phone pinged, and I saw a text from Amelia.

Lia: Come to the beach, we are chilling here and then having a bon fire

I looked at the message and I didn't know if I wanted to go. I rolled my eyes, stood up and packed my bottle of tequila and walked out the door. "Did you make the statement" I heard my mother ask, and I walked to the living room where she was busy reading. "I did" I said and she nodded. "Where are you going?" she asked, and I frown, she never cared before. "To the beach" I say, and she nods again looking at her magazine. "Okay be safe" she said, and I rolled my eyes walking out the door and drove to the beach. I saw them all playing in the water, and I could see Amelia was fitting in well. I took a deep breath and drank some tequila out of the bottle and went out. I walked to them and Amelia came and hugged me. I greeted the rest and sat on my towel.

"So how did it go at the police station?" Jacob asked and I saw Braxton looking at me. "Good" I said and he nodded. "They won't do s**t to Brax, we all know that" the guy from last night said, and I just looked at my hands. "Want a beer?" Natalie ask and I look up at her shocked. "Yes please" I say, and she actually smiled at me and gave me the beer. "Thanks" I say confused. She sat next to me and I looked at the waves. "I want to apologize about the other night, I know I judge too fast, and I am sorry you have a s**t life." She said and I smiled at her. "Yeah, well, at least I have money," I said and she laughed. I laugh with her and I drank my beer. "He likes you, you know." she says, and I look at her frowning. "Who?" I ask and she giggles. "Brax". She whispers and I blush

"It will never work" I say, and she is the one that is confused. "Why not?" she asks, and I shake my head, looking at my hands. "We are from two different worlds," I say, and she nods, looking at the other guys playing in the water. We were quiet for a bit, and she stood up, "Come, let's go swim" she said, and I laughed, taking her hand. I took off my shirt and shorts. "Wait", I took out the tequila and showed it to her. "Now you are talking Princess" she said, and I laughed. I took a shot from the bottle and gave it to her, and she also took a big sip. "Okay now, let's go swim," I said, and she laughed, and we walked to the water. "Damn princess, why are you hiding that body with clothes" Oscar said, and I giggle and blush. I ignored him and got in the water, it was nice and hot, I was actually enjoying myself with them.

After a while, I got out and went to lay on my towel. I saw Braxton come and sit with me and I ignored him. After a while of him staring at me, I sat up and look at him. "What do you want?" I asked annoyed. "I heard you told them that Brad owed me money and that is why I was there?" he said and I nod. "Yes what about it?" I asked. "Nothing just thought you would cover for your boyfriend and his friend." he said, and I rolled my eyes. "He is not my boyfriend, and why do you sound jealous?" I ask looking at him and he laugh. "Believe me pretty girl if I wanted you I would have you." he said, and I start laughing. "O, really and what makes you believe I would want you?" I ask folding my arms, and he grins looking at me. "The way you always look at me says different" he said, and I blush looking down.

He moved closer and my breath hitches. "Don't worry, I will not do that to you because I will ruin you," he said, and I looked at him shocked. He laughed and stood up, walking to his friends. What the hell just happened? I thought to myself and I took out the tequila and drank more of it, I can feel that I was getting tipsy, Amelia came to me, and she sat down, "are you okay?" she said, looking at the tequila in my hand, I nodded and gave her the bottle, she took it and also took a sip. "Did you and your mom fight again?" she asked, and I look out at the water. "Don't we always" I say and she smiles. "I can't wait to leave this damn place and leave my parents behind" I say, and she gives me a side hug. "Yeah, It's going to be fun going to collage without you." she said sarcastically and I laugh. "You could always travel the world with me." I say bumping her shoulder and she shakes her head. "Nah, I want to start my dream in fashion as soon as I can" she says and I nod

"So you and Jacob said to be doing good." I asked, and she smiles, "He really is great." she said and I nodded. "You and Braxton?" she asked and I frowned. "What do you mean?" I asked and she laugh. "Come on Abby, we can all see the tension between you too." she said, and I shake my head. "You know it will never work between us" I say "Why?" she asks, and I sigh, "we are just from different worlds, besides he doesn't seem interested." I say and she laughs. "Then you are blind, he can't stay away from you, have you not see that?" she asks, and I frown confuse. "No, not true" I say, and she looks at me shock. "Come on Abby, why do you think he beat Adam up?" she asked, and I take the tequila drinking some. "Because he called him crazy" I say and she giggles. "No, because he thought Adam is your boyfriend, and he was jealous." She said, and I look at her shock and then at Braxton that was surfing.

"I can't be with someone like him, he doesn't open up, and I don't like that, it's like he is hiding something." I say, and she nods, and then she stands up. "Abby, I am telling you something is going to happen between you two, and when it does, I will tell you I told you so." She says walking away, and I shake my head and look at Braxton walking out with his surf board, and he is looking at me again, and I lay down again.
