Happy Readings!!
Son of a b***h! Did they see me leave and decided to let me go? Or was he watching me from somewhere?
"Hi, Mr. Meany!? Are you going to join mommy and me in our game?" Annika asks. Frost raises an eyebrow looking at me before he sets his attention on Annika. "Oh? What kind of game is it?" Frost asks her. "Hide and seek!" Annika gives him a cheery adorable laugh.
"Hmm? Maybe later," Frosts tells her, looking at me. "You're still in the middle of the game," I tell him, sidestepping him. I didn't miss the smirk on his face when he allowed me to pass him. we were a good distance from him when he shouted out Annika's name.
Annika and I look back to see one of his men held up the bags with the princess outfits. "It's a trap. He wants his dad to catch you," I told Annika. "Annika!" Frosts shout her name again. One of his men had a puppy, while the other had a fishbowl. Annika wiggles out of my hold and runs to them.
"Annika! It's a trap! Remember, we're playing hiding seek. Look, Julian isn't there!" I shout to her. She turns back towards me. I cannot believe Frost is trying to bribe my daughter with animals and dresses. "Annika," Frost calls her name out in a singing voice. I looked at him, puzzling.
"I'll build you your own princess castle," He tells her, lowering himself. "I got all the materials to build it. Look at the trucks over there," His voice was like an angel of death, luring you deeper into it his den. Sure enough, there are two trucks with building materials. Is he serious right now?
"Mommy," Annika looks at me, helpless. My eyes widen, shock at Annika's expression. "Don't you dare," I point my finger at her? The dog starts to bark, making Annika look at it. "Annika," I called her name in a warning tone. She again looks at me helpless, like the dilemma she is in is overwhelming her.
"You'll have your own tiara," Frost says in a singy voice. "What's a princess with a crown, a puppy, and a castle. I even have a picture of the castles I'm going to build for you," OH MY GOD, HE'S A DEVIL.
"Castles? Is that more than one?" Frost smiles bright, his dimples making an appearance. "Yes," Annika looks at me, defeated. "Sorry, mommy! But I have to get caught!" She then sprints to Frost, crashing into his tall build frame. His smiles widening as he holds Annika in his arms. I'm stunned, completely in a daze.
I cannot believe Annika did that. What about him!? How could he bribe a little girl into coming to him! It sounds so wrong! But that's what he did! Out of all the low-down dirty tricks! He used what Annika said the day Whitney took their DNA and used it to draw her to him! f*****g PERVERTED CREEP! Who does that? AND ANNIKA!! You little traitor!
Time and time again, I've told her not to talk to strangers or adults that I have not introduced her to. But on the very night, she meets Frost, she like a moth to a flame. Maybe I should have bought her the damn dumb dog. A hairless mutt. Ugh. Attachment to such things is meaningless. I never had a pet, not like I could have gotten one. Objects and things meant nothing to me. I started my company, became successful, but felt nothing until Annika came along.
I simply raised her not to dwell on useless things like princess gowns, pets, toys. It didn't mean I didn't buy her those things. Was I wrong?
"Come now," Frost's voice brings me out of my thoughts. I stare daggers at him. "Don't be sad," He pinched my cheeks, and I swatted his hand away. "After all, I had to think of something after seeing this," He pulls out his phone, showing a picture of the message I sent to Rosetta.
I snatch his phone, looking at my message. Impossible. Impossible. Impossible. "Impossible," I looked at Frost. He simply smirked at me, not saying anything. With Annika in one hand, his other rested against the small of my back. He guided us to one of the cars. It is an Audi RS5. It looks like he had customized one of the back seats for Annika. Grrrrr. Seriously, it's too sweet.
He securely strapped Annika in before letting me in. He then took the driver's side while one of his men took the passenger seat. Frost started driving, but I was still at a loss. I hadn't said anything as I continued to stare at his phone.
"Mr. Meany, I think you broke mommy?" Annika's sweet, confused and concerned voice brought me out of my daze.
