Chapter 18 How did you meet my mother?

Laying there thinking next big Bruno little Bruno how big Bruno first met Corra little Bruno’s mother. So big Bruno figured it was time to tell the cub the truth. Well if I recall I had had a long day and both seemed to be going right. It was a early Spring morning and I was scouting for some food wondering into each area not wanting to miss anything I was a young careless bear I was a lot like you in fact you remind me a lot of myself growing up. And with a breeze flowing by I smelled another bear looking around I saw nothing. So I kept scouting for food. But I just had a feeling of this other bear watching me. I came to a clearing that had berries everywhere so I started to eat. Realizing the bear I hadn’t seen was watching me as she enjoyed eating the berries. We just kind of watched each other as we both ate from the berries then Corra slowly backed up to head back told her den. She intrigued me as I started following her around knowing she would avoid her den as long as a young male bear was watching her. So she took me through a underground passage and through an small cliff. As she slowly lost me that time.
Then later that evening at the river fishing as I normally do I caught a glimpse of Corra coming down to the river to feed. Of all the bears there she is the one that caught my tension. Corra seemed like a cunning bear. Which with a cub that can just walk into trouble her mother would need to be alert at all times. As Corra stayed clear of me as most female bears resist being around any large male bears with there temper. As we both fished and filled up for the day. I decided to meet Corra and see why she finds me so interesting. Or was it and accident that day at the berry patch.
Coming to the bank of the river looking up at Corra telling her my name is Bruno. Corra looked at me with curious eyes and said hello. Corra spoke and said her name and wondered what i was doing later? I told her I was going to go take a nap for a bit after getting a full belly of fish. And then I would find her later and your mother agreed. So Corra wondered back to the river at dinner time and looking up I saw your mother. And I walked over to her and we played in the water catching fish the rest of the evening. After spending something time together we started spending more time and til. We become a couple and started to having cubs together. Little Bruno looked up and said you are my dad? That’s why my name is Bruno? How long have you and mother been together. Little Bruno couldn’t believe the bear he has spent so much time with is his dad. Well big Bruno said yes that’s why your name is little Bruno. Yes I am your father and we have been together for many years. And we have had several cubs together but none have been so much like me as you are.
You have been protecting me this whole time because I am so much like you little Bruno asked? The big bear laughed and said yes I have watched over you since you were born. And I will continue to look out for you as long as this ole bear is around. Wow this big scary bear that I grew up watching is my dad and I one that has stuck by me this whole time is the type of bear I want to grow up to be exactly like.
Time to go we are almost at the winter lands and it’s time to start putting on our winter fat son. Do you think mother will be there little Bruno asked his dad? And big Bruno said yes son she will be there by now we have followed her scent the whole way here. Little Bruno asked why didn’t you tell me that dad I have been worried that I will never see Mother again. Because son I have had enough to deal with just keeping you safe and out of danger. As little Bruno looked up at his dad he knew that was a true statement. And he has really had many adventures I met many friends and some enemies a lot this long and dangerous road to the winter lands. As mother looked in the face of his dad little Bruno told his dad thanks for helping him find his mother and he would never be able to repay big Bruno for helping him to find his mother and watching out for him on this journey. Bi Bruno told his little twin cub that he didn’t have to repay him or thank him for watching out for him because that what families do for each other. They stay together and make sure the smaller members of the family are safe. And big Bruno told his tiny offspring that for such a tiny animal little Bruno has taught him a lot while they have been traveling together. And the tiny cub asked what such a tiny cub could teach a wise older bear. Well big Bruno said you have taught me to stop and watch around and listen is the other animals of the forest they can be our friends and help us along the way. My life has always be centered around my own kind but I can honestly say you have taught me that it’s ok to be friends with all the animals of the forest that we can help each other with daily struggles in our life’s. It scared me to meet your big foot friend but he was Avery impressive guy that I am proud to say is a great friend of mine to son. You are one amazing cub son of mine.
