Leon and Dave were joking around like teenagers, Rita relaxed with the music, and Camelia leaned into the comfort of their easy friendship. It was a great way to start the New Year, and now she was looking forward to a lazy day in the company of Leon and the kids, drinking mimosas by the fire.
Leon was cooking bacon, humming along to the stereo.
“Good morning, babe,” she said, planting a kiss on his neck. “It’s still morning, right?”
“Close enough. Happy new year to my lovely bride. How about a cuppa coffee? We’ve got Bailey’s or Kahlua,” Leon said.
