Chapter 20 ~ December 24 T’was the Night Before...The wind was already howling around the eaves as Kenna’s phone dinged with a weather alert. The blizzard was arriving, and she still had to pick up a few stocking stuffers, a couple of bottles of rye, and some of her favorite snacks. It shouldn’t take more than an hour if she left now, before the brunt of the storm hit.
But Freda was becoming a worry. Rita and Dave were out at the Becker family farm, an hour east of the city, otherwise Miss Smarty Pants Nurse would have been around to take over.
