Sebastian woke up, Adam asleep with his head on his stomach, and indulged in stroking his hair. It was odd, the vulnerability he felt, lying in bed with the only creature he’d ever wanted to scoop up and take home. It was both the most wonderful thing and the scariest thing he’d ever experienced. Adam stirred and he dropped his hand, self-conscious. “You can keep petting me. I like it.” Sebastian’s mouth curved and he went back to touching the soft strands again, studying its warm color and the smooth plane of Adam’s forehead. “Can I ask you a question?” Adam stretched and answered sleepily. “Sure.” “Have you given Charlie an answer yet?” “Charlie?” It took Adam a few beats to realize what Sebastian was asking him. “No. Not yet. But he’s asked me to the Monastery again this weekend
