“Did you remember anything significant?” Miss Diana made sure to have some sort of homemade pastry for the two of them to indulge in during Evelyn’s habitual morning visits now, and this morning it was apple strudel. “I worried all day yesterday, wondering if you were going to come back or if you’d be back home.”
“I would never leave without saying goodbye!” Evelyn smiled at the woman who was quickly becoming a cherished friend.
