"You call that a chat?! You destroyed almost everything here including my chandelier!"
"Just be grateful you are still alive thanks to me."
"Yeah but wrecking all of my stuff is something else."
"Never mind that, just send me a sample of your estimated bill and we'll talk over matters," I said to him leaving the place as I drove my way outside of the subdivision using the delivery van.
“Hey! I don’t even know who you are?” He shouted while holding a broken piece of his chandelier.
I quickly changed my outfit, left the jumpsuit at the back of the car, grabbed my things, and went on my way to the NBI building using my motorcycle parked at the water refilling station. Within a few minutes of travel, I slipped myself inside the back entrance using the keys given to me by the janitor. Onward to the passageway leading you to the west wing of the Crypt, I smashed the walls as a quick route inside. I got a bag and grabbed a few stuff such as clothes, fake I.D.'s, and my passport.
Since based on some solid facts, the person behind this mess could be one of those who are named in the audiovisual room. However, I checked their status and found out that one of them, Liruan Nasus is already dead during the revolution. His body was found on his bed with a slice mark on his neck along with a letter stating his apologies to his own people. Other than that, after that letter was sent to the police, the house where he stayed was burnt to ashes. Thus, the case was considered suicide during the case trials without any substantial evidence to point out who the culprit is. Honestly speaking everything branches out to this revolution and I cannot tell which could be the possible killer.
That is the reason why I have myself ready for a short trip to Europe to check some trading history and to see the validity of these transactions. Knowing that the government had some business with the Spanish rule, I won’t be easy to squeeze the information out of them. I’ll just have to make a way or think a way out of the box to ensure that I have enough evidence for a case to throw upon.
As I was packing all of my stuff, my phone suddenly rang while I was in the middle of changing. I immediately grabbed it to see who it was and to my surprise it was Elise.
I casually answered the phone, “Hey, what’s going on?”
“Tomorrow is the day.” Her words were cryptic. I was trying to contemplate what that tomorrow is.
“What do you mean tomorrow?” I asked, trying to verify since my mind is currently occupied by the case
.
“*Sigh* You’re hopeless… You promised me that date! How could you forget that one?!” Oh... I suddenly remembered and regretted agreeing to it.
I sat down and looked at the ceiling, and replied “Fine… I’ll be ready tomorrow… Tell me where and what time are we supposed to meet…” I wanna back out and say no but with this much excitement in her nerves, I'll be in a heap of trouble if I showed even the slightest bit of hesitation.
“Yeeeey!” her optimism is commendable however, she doesn’t realize the momentum that I have in solving the case.
She continued, “Meet me in Marikina city under the clock tower around 10. There are benches there for you so you could go earlier just in case.”
“Yes, yes… Can I hang up now?” I asked, massaging my forehead due to stress.
“Yeah, you can. Just don’t forget about tomorrow okay? Don’t you even dare leave me hanging on this one or I swear I’ll kill you!” She ended up the call with such a serious threat.
I began to think of things while wondering what I should wear for tomorrow since the day is still early for me to sleep. With only my pants on, sitting on the dental chair with my phone placed on one of the freshly cleaned slabs, I realized that this is the first social event that I’ve had for five years now. I still have a lot to catch up especially knowing what kind of people I would be dealing with.
