“So did you have fun?” He asked.
“I would love to if you didn’t pull me out immediately.”
“Unfortunately I didn’t.” He held his teacup and pointed it towards me, similar to a toast.
“I did acquire this odd picture though. I just don’t know what help this would do.”
“Let me answer both your questions with one question.”
Intrigued on his words I asked. “What is it this time?”
The tables, chair, and his teacup began to sublime as he walked towards me. He stopped in front looking at my hand where the picture is.
“Knowing the person in that picture would determine the purpose of your coming in this country. Who is this person now?”
Being in such a state right now, I’ve been wondering how this photo ended up in my memory, though I don’t seem to remember seeing him in my past endeavors so forth.
“Though if you really want to check out the rest of the place on that door. All you have to do is use the key and check every place that you like. You don’t know what kind of memento could be hiding.”
“Thanks for the suggestion, I will,” I said to him walking down a long road headed towards a set of stairs leading down.
As I kept on going down, my mind was slowly gaining its grip on my body and senses. I guess I’m about to wake up soon if I continue walking with everything that I’ve gained throughout the abyss still intact and tangible. Whenever going over this place, I should train myself to be more patient and controllable due to the annoying ways of getting this other self of me to talk. Knowing that he is more dangerous than what I can do, he is always in a calm state.
I suddenly woke up hearing flames and explosions from the outside. It's only 11 o clock in the evening and there's something going out of the streets already. Looking outside I can see flames and a lot of people running. Men with guns from each side of the street exchanging fire from place to place. A gang war must've been going around in this place, interesting enough to think that they prefer doing it in a classical way in front of the crowd.
I immediately grabbed my clothes and went outside the hotel to see if I can lessen the tension and help some wounded men. Going through the elevator I reached the lobby seeing a hostage-taking scene. Two men wearing suspenders and masks signify that these men are gangsters or thugs in the area. I approached them with my hands held high to the air making me part of the hostages. For a quick moment, I started analyzing possible intrusions to disarm the assailants.
Both are armed with Mp5's and their positioning is just as parallel as the way the hostages are sited on the entrance, the idea is if I could only get a hold on one of their guns and shot the other one to prevent further injury of the hostages. For a moment I tried to blend crawling towards the rest of the group. Usually, once they are done hijacking, they would need someone as an escape shield towards the entrance in order for them to continue.
Due to the presence of the police in a nearby standoff zone, their escape routes are shut. I started acting nervous in order to get their attention from both hostiles, showing some of my jewelry to attract them from getting close; I did what I can to let them see my watch and necklace. A minute has passed and one of them seems to have fallen for it, asking me to come in front of them.
Gaining enough distance, with a burst of adrenaline I used my elbow to deliver a strike on the jaw of the hostage-taker in front of me. I used the Mp5 to dislocate his shoulders forcing him down to the floor, shooting the limbs of the other one, incapacitating him. With much movement, I ordered everyone to find a safe spot to hide inside the hotel floors with enough cover for the guests and employees. Having everyone panic, the only thing I can see on the entrance door is a bunch of people running along with a few police officers. Gunshots are everywhere with some of the civilians wounded, most hiding on their homes hearing the barricades shutting the door from the other side.
The hotel lobby is like a chaotic place with flaming drums and broken glasses everywhere. Most of the people inside must’ve hidden somewhere in the building to protect themselves from this riot. Interesting that the riot squad arrived earlier in time, anticipating the actions created by these troublemakers. Walking outside to check the surroundings, I ran to a group of men being chased by their enemy with motorcycles from the main road. I took a detour on the winding paths towards the intersection of the place seeing the rest of the group being bullied around and round by these guys.
I picked up a piece of rock and held it tightly to my hand. Jumping to one of the men trying to get a hold of the motorcycle, I smashed his back with the rock while pulling a metal chain almost revealed on the trunk of the motorcycle. I turned to them using the chain as a whip to dislodge them out of their seats by hitting their legs. Another group of men tried to engage me in combat, using brutal force as I tried to simplify the fight, shoving their wheels with sticks to force them out of their motorcycles. One of the bastards dropped his ride so I stole it, accelerated the motorcycle with its gas lid open, and crashed it on the wall exploding in flames, chasing most of them out of our sights.
The outcome of the fight is already clear as I walked past the incapacitated men on the ground. The rest we're almost beaten up and everyone is safe with a few bruises and scratch marks on their faces. I was just about to walk to another place, with some of them approached me, shaking my hands and thanking me for what I’ve done.
“Senior! Please help us!” He came closer with another person wounded on his stomach. From the way he speaks, his English is quite different than your usual Spanish folk.
“Is there any hospital near this place?” I asked him as I gave his companion a shoulder. Apparently, the bunch of men that I helped earlier ran as much as they could away from our location. The only people left on the area would be me and these guys, in the middle of a battlefield
.
“There is one but it’s on the west side of the city. It’s under isolation right now due to the riot. We tried going over some of the clinics but most of them are already full.” He replied to me burdened by the person he’s carrying, he started talking to his friend in Spanish.
Scanning the entire place, there’s a certain building on the hill just ahead of us with a car parked under an illuminated tree. I didn’t care anymore and started walking towards the vehicle. These guys don’t look like tourists nor ordinary locals. They are wearing coats and tucked long sleeves with a pin attached to the collars. The design appears to be a moon with a skull on the middle. It’s the first time I’ve seen anything like it. I better make sure to ask them questions as soon as I wrap this thing up.
“We need to get to that car,” I said to him as we ascended up this forsaken slope with dust covering our eyes. Looking at the place where I’ve been, it’s quite disastrous to see the current discord going on. With only a few more meters to the small house, I can see some of the people running towards the scene trying to get a desperate glimpse of the situation amidst the flying bullets around.
Using that moment, I smashed the front glass of the car with a rock covered in my jacket, opening the driver’s seat and hot-wiring the car. I started helping them get inside, giving my jacket to his wounded friend, pressing his wound to prevent further bleeding.
