I remain mute once again. Indeed, I was uncomfortable with her curiosity. It also means that I shouldn't spend too much time in the packhouse. “Why don't you want to share your story with me?” She asked. I knew she was growing weary of my quietness, and I needed to do something. I forced myself to remember my mother and father and how they died, and tears naturally flew down my cheeks. “Oh! I am so sorry, my dear. I didn't mean to hurt you," she stated with so much pity. She couldn't stand my tears; I could notice her eyes were getting watery. "Please, mam, can I return back to my room?” I asked. "Yes, please, and stop crying," she said, wiping the tears from my eyes. As I walked back to my room, I smiled and said within myself, “What a nice woman! I wish you were not Maxwell's mother; I won't have to kill you.” Later on that day, I did my research on the loved ones of the Alpha, and I found out that his mother and sister are the most important persons in his life, followed by Madison, his best friend, and Beta. Therefore, they made it into my blacklist. “I will kill them all," I told myself. The following day, I was in the kitchen cooking Luna Lara's food when a young girl who should be around 13 years old came into the kitchen. “Where is Mama?" she asked. I immediately deduced that she was Maxwell's younger sister. “She is in her chambers," I responded, trying hard to smile at her. “No, she is not. I just checked there right now, she stated. “Then you should check the garden," I said, still maintaining the smile. “Yaah, that is true; I will go check there. I guess you are one of the new domestic help recently employed." She stated and asked. “Yes, and my name is Ariana," I responded. “Well, Ariana, I am Dotty, and it is a pleasure to meet you," she stated, taking my right hand and kissing it. “The pleasure is all mine," I stated and smiled. “By the way, your smile is beautiful; it is just like my mom's," Dotty stated while walking away. I felt nothing but love and comfort around her; for a moment I forgot she was the sister of Maxwell, the one who took my parents life. Still in the kitchen when I got a call from Bobby, one of the boys I came with. “Hello Kira," he said. I quickly ran into the bathroom and answered it. “Why are you calling me? I thought I had warned you guys not to reach me that I would be the one to be reaching you, I said in an angry tone. "Ariana, calm down and listen to me; something terrible had happened here," he said in a panicky voice. The voice came with a panic of its own. I paused and asked. “What happened?” “Greg is dead," he said. “What!” I screamed in shock. “What happened to him?" I added after a few seconds. “He went missing since yesterday evening, but this evening we found his deceased body at the garden," he stated. “Maybe someone had discovered us; you guys have to leave," I told him. “Yaah, we buried the body and got out because we don't want the securities asking questions," he said. “Good, I will call you and give you further instructions. How are the others doing?” I stated. The phone was handed over to Festus, and we talked for a while before I hung up. Someone had assassinated him, but what I am curious about is if his death is connected to my arrival or something he had with someone before now. That night I couldn't sleep. I checked Greg's profile and found out that he is the son of the former Beta of the Silver Blade Pack, Jack Peterson, my father's best friend. The memories I shared with him came thrilling one after the other. We shared a great chemistry and were even promised to be future lovers before catastrophe struck. “How could I have forgotten all about him?" I asked myself, soaked in my own tears. I later called Festus, who told me they had done some research and found out that his only enemy was Maxwell, the alpha, who was his business competitor. “It all makes sense; only Maxwell can kill in cold blood," I told myself. This makes my mission in the packhouse expedient because if I should get discovered, he won't spare me. I felt so much pain that night that I needed to give a dose of it back to Maxwell. I sent Madison's picture to Festus to eliminate him, and that same night it was done in such a way that people felt it was a natural death. Grief felled upon the packhouse as everyone felt the grief of the Alpha and his family. Yet the apha seems to me like a ghost. I had spent three days in the packhouse without seeing him coming in or going out. All I hear is “he is out and he is in.”. When I took food to Luna Lara that morning, she couldn't eat the food. “My dear takes the food back; I won't be able to eat now,” she said. “I am so sorry for your loss. How is the Alpha doing?” I asked. “He is devastated, but he would recover. He has a strong spirit," she responded. That statement felt like bad news to me; I needed him broken and shattered, and being told he has a strong spirit broke my heart. Therefore, I forwarded Dotty's picture to Festus and gave him her routine and the name of her school. “Inform me the moment she is out," he said. “Of course," I told him”. I knew losing her sister a few days after losing his best friend would bring him to his knees. “I need to feel his frustration just as I felt mine these past eight years of my life," I told myself. However, fortunately for Dotty, she didn't go out that day owing to the family mourning. I was enjoying the whole situation; this is what I had hoped for, tearing him and his family apart before swallowing them up. I sat in a part of the sitting room with Luna Lara, who was very comfortable around me and was treating me like a family member, to witness the moving in and out of some of the prominent personalities in the pack. Many prominent members of the pack came in and out to the family as if Madison were their son. "I guess he was really close to the family. I was still seated when I noticed a hand around my neck. Confused and curious, I turned around to see who it was. It was Dotty. “Please let me hold you for a while," Dotty said, sobbing. “Hey! Stop crying; everything will be ok," I said. "Maxwell is getting drunk again; I need you to comfort him," she stated. “What can I do to comfort him? I do not even know my way around this big house not to be talking about his chambers.” I responded. “You can; he has a picture of you by his bedside," Dotty revealed. “Hey! Why will you say that? That is not Ariana's picture, and don't go around spitting words," Luna Lara, who walked in on us after seeing an important guest off, said. “Maxwell is drinking again; you have to stop him," she told her mother. "What!" Luna Lara exclaimed and took off to Maxwell's room. Dotty followed, and I followed her from behind, not because I am concerned about Maxwell but because I needed to know his room. I remained in the lobby with Dotty because Luna had locked the room after her. After a while, she came out. The look on her face said it all. “How is he doing?" I asked Luna Lara. “He is drunk, but I have managed to put him to sleep," she responded. “Even the strongest and wealthiest still get hurt. I will see how he will feel when I strike my second target," I said within myself. I followed Lara and Dotty back to the sitting room and continued to console them. “Forget about what Dotty told you earlier; she mistook you for my late daughter," she said, tightening his face in her bid to swallow her pain. “It is ok, ma, I understand," I responded, forcing a grin on my face. I felt how Lara treated me differently from the other domestic staff; even though she was nice to everyone, she drew me closer to herself, not minding the fact that I had just spent three days in the house. I spend the entire day with Luna and Dotty, conversing with them and trying to make them happy. That night, Festus called to ask why I didn't reach out to them when Dotty left. “She didn't go out today; maybe tomorrow," I told him. "Oh, I see! What is the situation over there? Are they enjoying our meal?” He sarcastically asked. “Off course, the whole family is thrown into grief, and the lunatic almost drowned himself to death with alcohol," I responded with excitement. “Where is he now?” He further asked. “Drunk and sleeping," I stated. “This is your chance, Kira. Seize it and accomplish your mission; we can finish whatever you wish to do out here," Festus urged. I paused and thought about it for a while and nodded my head. “You have a point; he is clearly at his most vulnerable stage. I will finish him off tonight," I responded. "Yes, baby girl! Tonight you will have the freedom you have been longing for all these eight years," he stated. “Yaah”, prepare to take me home by tomorrow and be on the watchout on your phone," I instructed him. "Alright, Luna," he responded formally. Although my plan was to suffocate him till death, I took a knife and wrapped it around my leg as a substitute should he gather enough strength to combat me. I dressed up in a flexible gown. When it was midnight and everyone inside the mansion was supposed to be asleep, I sneaked into his chambers. I unlocked his room door with ease; thanks to his drunken condition, it didn't lock his door. I saw him sleeping on the bed sideways, and I drew him in order to see his face and suffocate him with the pillow. That was when I saw the face that has been stuck in my memory for the past eight years. "Hello, mate!" his wolf growled in excitement. "Hello, mate," my wolf growled back, independent of my control.
