More Noble Trouble

"What the hell are you doing?!" I turned to the source of the voice that called out, undoing my spell on the earl's son, as he once again gasped for air in relief. Standing there was a scrawny male adult with black and gray hair. "I should've known a commoner was causing a scene here," he spoke, approaching me. "Moreover, one who attempted to kill a noble! Dirty filth like you has no place in the prestigious Flammel Royal Academy!" Just from that alone, I knew I was not going to get anywhere in simply speaking to this man, who clearly thinks so highly of nobles. "Hold it! Despite what it seems, this girl is not the one at fault!" the animal-eared girl spoke, standing between me and the nobleman. "I don't have time to speak to some filthy animal. As for you, commoner cheat, you are coming with me to the headmaster at once!" As he reached out to me, the girl slapped his hand away. "If you have an issue with her, you can take it up to me," she told him, to my surprise and his rage. "An animal like you should know its place!" the adult noble exclaimed, shoving her down. "Crossbreeds being seen as equals... You beasts are far from equals! Once I report this to his majesty, he will see what a mistake it is to keep the academy doors open for both crossbreeds and commoners!" The girl seemed less and less amused by the adult's words, as she took out a pendant from under her shirt. "When you say 'his majesty', surely you are not referring to this person." She opened the pendant, revealing a family photo. One that contained a picture of her and the king of Flammel Kingdom in it. My eyes widened in shock at the sight of it. If that photo was genuine, then it could only mean that this girl here was...? "Why in the world does a filthy beast like you have a picture of his majesty in that dirty pendant?!" the adult male questioned. He then let out a small gasp and widened his eyes in seemingly realization. "Can it be...? A photoshop! That picture is nothing but a fake!" The animal-eared girl was visibly surprised by his claim. "You think that low of my kind?" "I don't 'think' that low; it is a fact! You both are coming with me to see the headmaster this instant!" Without another word, the professor summoned out a grey magic circle and shot out silver chains, binding the two of us. "Hey! What's the big idea?!" I questioned in bafflement. "I am very much so sure this is not necessary!" "What does a cheating freeloader like you know?!" the noble exclaimed, dragging us away from the scene. Well, attempted to, actually, when a deep voice called out to him. "What is going on here?" We turned and saw, to my surprise, a huge man heading our way. And from the amount of magic I was detecting radiating off of him, this guy was not someone anyone should be messing with. "Oh, headmaster! Thank goodness you are here!" the scrawny nobleman exclaimed. "These two foolish creatures are ruining the greatness the orientation was to symbolize!" "That is not true in the slightest!" the animal-eared girl exclaimed. "I was only trying to get this noble here to display proper manners he should be displaying to his peers, only for him to arrogantly deny such an action!" "She's telling the truth," I vouched. "Not only that, but this son of an earl even tried to sexually harass me, forcing me to do things no girl would ever want to do with someone like him. All so he could show some respect to those he deemed lower than him." "Those two are lying! I did none of that!" the arrogant noble boy said. "I was only sitting down, waiting for orientation to begin when-" "Okay, that is enough," the headmaster spoke. "Yes! You are right. This foolishness has gone on for long enough!" the nobleman exclaimed. "We already have more than enough problems with these dastardly lowlives! Now should be the time we make a proper example out of them before they sully more of this academy's good name!" "An example, you say? Hmm... Yes, I completely agree with you on that." Just as the headmaster said that, he raised a hand and summoned a purple magic circle... Right below the scrawny nobleman's feet. Next anyone knew, the guy suddenly fell flat on the floor, cancelling his magic and inadvertently freeing me and the animal-eared girl. "Goof! H-Headmaster! What are you doing?! You should be setting an example of the two filths!" the victim said. "You're correct. There are two 'filths' here." Another magic circle appeared under the arrogant noble boy, and a strong force also forced him back down. "You said I should be making a proper example out of the 'dastardly lowlives', as you say it. I am doing exactly just that. Do you not realize you are in the presence of his royal majesty's crossbreed daughter?" That question especially caused a commotion amongst many people around us, as well as confirmed my suspicion about this girl with me. "D-D-Daughter?! Of our king?!" the scrawny nobleman gasped. "Surely you jest! A crossbreed as a princess of Flammel Kingdom?! Such a thing is unheard of!" "And for a good reason, especially considering how some nobles such as you act around people who are to be our equals," the headmaster said. "Just because she did not do a public appearance does not give you the right to treat her base on her race, as you should not be doing in the first place to any one of our students. And yet, not only did a student show such great disrespect to his own peers, one of my staff members dare be stereotypical to a pair of students." "T-That's... well..." The nobleman was unable to say a word in response. "I will be seeing the two of you in my office later," the headmaster said, ending the conversation there. "As for you two, I believe your name is Levi Caribbean, was it? While I understand the reason behind your action, I do believe violence is far from the answer needed in such a situation." Getting the hint that he had witnessed the whole scene from the start, I only narrowed by eyes in response. "True, except words did not seem to be getting through to this boy. They say 'action speaks louder than words', so I had to act out of line, if it meant getting the message through. Besides, it was not like I was trying to kill him, nor did I do him any harm." The headmaster only nodded at my words, before turning to the princess. "And your highness, my deepest apologies for my staff's behavior, as well as revealing your origin." "It's fine. It's meant to come out sooner or later," she pardoned. Nodding once more, he turned to the rest of the students around us. "This is not some entertainment. Take your seats at once." His calm order sent shivers across the room, as everyone hastily moved to their assigned seats. "Us too," the animal-eared girl told me, taking off to her seat at the front, and I followed after her to my own.
