CHAPTER TWENTY TWO As Officer Frisbie helped Riley up from the bed, Riley heard her call out something to one of the cops in the hall. It was a simple order of some sort, but at the moment it sounded like gibberish to Riley. Riley did make out a woman’s sharp reply. “Do you think that’s a good idea? I mean, isn’t she—?” “Don’t argue with me,” Frisbie snapped back. “Make it fast.” Officer Frisbie took Riley gently by the arm and led her out of her room. The hallway seemed painfully bright, and Riley had to squint. She couldn’t actually feel her legs, but she knew they must be down there, obediently carrying her along.
