Chapter Seventeen Friday At The Party

487 Words
Grace When we arrived at the party I felt out done. This place is like a mansion. And it’s glamorous. While our house is just big. It’s not ugly. Just empty feeling. It lack the touch of my parents. Nothing is personal. Then we got here after quite the hike and we went inside and everything faded away. Until I saw Brennan Scott. Then my nerves were wrapped tight. He hasn’t left our side which is strange but I’m also enjoying it. My brother is in a foul mood and would kill him but he seems far off. Brennan and I talk until I look up and notice the girls are gone. “Well that’s something.” I say and Brennan looks confused. “Syd kept telling me that she forgave gabby but I guess I couldn’t see it. She was serious.” I shrug sipping my drink. “Gabby was wronged that night too.” Brennan says. “How so?” “She wanted Henry. He took another girl to his room so she got smashed and Bryce took advantage of that.” “He really is a tool.” I say making him laugh. “He is.” He smiles. “Wanna go outside? It’s stuffy in here.” I freeze. Panic setting in laced with excitement. I look around for my brother and don’t see him so I only manage a nod. I follow him outside to the pond. Aside from the water it’s all forest. It’s nice. But also creepy. “If I lived here I’d throw parties all the time.” Brennan says. “Weird right? Throwing one here. Unless they have thrown others and we didn’t know.” I suggest. “We would have heard about it.” He says and I agree because everyone would talk about the house. Before either of us says anything else he kisses me. I see stars. It’s the best kiss I’ve ever had hands down. I wrap my hands into his hair and he tightens his grip on my waist. When he breaks the kiss he rests his forehead on mine. We’re both panting. “I’ve wanted to do that forever.” He smiles. “What?” Is all I can manage and immediately I wanna shove the word right back in. He smiles cheekily and I melt right there. I’m not sure how I’m still standing. “Henry told me he’d kill me.” He laughs. “He’s just protective.” I say without thinking. He doesn’t question it thankfully. Just laces his fingers through mine. “I know we’re all going different places but id like to see where this can go. I don’t want to look back in five years and have regrets.” I don’t trust my voice so I lean in and kiss him gently. He leads me back inside to the still empty kitchen still holding my hand.
