Grace
I feel it happening. We all look at each other like monsters. Strangers. It’s eerily silent out here. We all go back to the kitchen and do a shot.
This isn’t a game I want to be playing. They’re trying to force there way into the group and push us apart. I don’t want that to happen but I’m not sure how everyone else is feeling right now. I’m not too keen on playing games but if it’s mandatory and this person is crazy I will.
Sydney’s phone goes off and we all jump. Her face pales and I arch a brow.
“Someone didn’t play fair. There are consequences to your actions. You’ll see.” She reads and my blood runs cold.
“Tell is your secret.” Jen says to Bryce.
“I don’t have one.”
“Liar.”
“He’s not gonna tell us. Let’s hope whoever this is knows.” Brennan says stretching.
I sigh and take off to the living room. By the time I get back to the kitchen the group has disbanded. Being together feels like being with strangers after what just happened outside.
I sit at the table and spin my bottle cap.

Round up the troops.
I sigh standing. I find Grace and Brennan first and they help me with the rest. We stand outside in the woods like we were told.
“Where’s Gabby and Jen?” Bryce asks looking around.
I sigh. Because we asked him to grab them.

Walk five feet to your left.
I gesture and they all follow. The nights dark and quiet. I take one more step and trip over a root. I curse and when I go to push myself up I stop.
“Oh god.” Grace says behind me. Henry rips me up and pulls me back but it’s too late. I can’t unsee what just happened.

Get rid of it.
“No no no no no.” Brennan says bending down.
“Where is gabby?” Bryce asks again this time harsher.
Sydney looks like she’s about to be such so I pull her towards me. I wrap an arm around her shoulders as she stares at the ground. There’s no words to say right now.
Even if there were I’m not very good with this sort of thing. Maybe that’s why she doesn’t open up to me. That would make sense. I pull her a foot back with me but she breaks away finally and stands closer. I realize she’s trying to block it from my view.
I sigh and stay where I’m at. I’m not sure how fragile she thinks I am, don’t get me wrong I don’t want to see it but that’s the point isn’t it? This person wants us to do things we don’t want to do. So I will. I glance at Bryce who is the only one not bothered. Could it be?
