Chapter Twenty Two Saturday Morning

486 Words
Sydney I wake up to the sun shining through the huge window across the room. I check my phone and see that it’s only eight am. Brennans awake scrolling through i********:. “Hungover?” He asks without looking at me. “Not in the least.” I yawn making him smirk. Grace rolls over and elbows Henry in the face making us both laugh. Henry groans opening his eyes only to groan again. “What an ugly sight to wake up beside. See Bren, I saved you from it.” Grace punches his arm and I sigh. “What’s in the agenda?” Grace asks eyeing me. “I could use a shower and some food.” “Sounds like heaven.” She agrees standing up. Automatically Brennan focuses completely on her and I can’t help but smile. I look at Henry and he looks irate. Grace and I find the bathroom and shower, getting dressed in short shorts and tank tops with our boots and doing our hair and makeup. Henry and Brennan change into jeans and tshirts and call it good. I can’t help but scoff. We walk downstairs and find the rest of our clan eating around a table. “Hey sleepyheads.” Jen smiles. “Food.” I moan grabbing a plate. After we’ve all eaten we stand around not sure what to do. “Oh!” Gabby says reaching into her pocket and pulling out an envelope. “Here.” She hands it to me. “What is it?” Grace asks. “Read it.” Jen says grinning. ‘Good morning all. Hope you slept well and ate plenty. Tonight’s party will be a bit different. There will be games and participation is mandatory. Sorry we couldn’t meet but it’s not time yet. See you at sun down.’ “I like how they think.” Bryce says and I sigh. Anything he likes is not a good idea by far. “Let’s go explore.” Brennan suggests and we all follow him outside. Whoever owns this house must own all of the land too because there are no neighbors. Convenient for nights like last night but terrible in case there’s an emergency. I glance around. The yard is wrecked with cups and who knows what else. I shudder at the though and turn my attention to the group in front of me. They’re all arguing about what to do and where to go. Like we have so many options. There’s trees and a body of water and a house. I sigh and wait for them to agree on what we’re doing. The sun feels amazing and I feel it giving me the vitamins I need. I crack my eyes open when I feel someone watching me. When I meet Henry’s gaze he looks away quickly but I’m almost positive that he’s blushing? I smirk and tilt my head up again.
