Nightmare. (Harper White P.O.V) "STAY AWAY FROM ME!" I screamed, clutching my head, when I caught sight of them. "LEAVE ME ALONE" I awoken from my screams and that horrific nightmare which was a real memory. When I opened my eyes, I realised I was in someone else's bedroom rather than a filthy dungeon, and I was linked to several cords. The bedroom was black and grey with a large bed and the sunrise was lightening the room from the open balcony. Two closed doors on my opposite wall were probably for the bathroom and wardrobe. I was looking around the room when my gaze was drawn to something...er, someone, and I began to panic. What is he going to do with me? I was thinking this as I stared at him, terrified. What if he does the same thing to me that they did to me, or worse? He might kill me and nobody will know about it. My eyes widened as I noticed him taking a step towards me. "Don't come near me," I spoke with a shaky voice which made him come to a standstill and took a deep breath. "I will not hurt you," he assured me as he took another step towards me, but after what occurred, I am not going to believe him. "No, don't come near me," I screamed from the top of my lungs. "Fine, I'll just call the doctor," as soon as he walked out, I took a deep breath. I have no idea of how I got here or what occurred after I blacked out. I'm just pleased to know I'm no longer with them. (Xavier Castillo P.O.V) "She just woke up, and I need you here in 5 minutes," I declared as I hung up the phone. I tightened my fist. When I remembered her eyes which were filled with the dread when she saw me earlier, they will pay for making her feel that way. I hope that one day I will be able to heal her. I sighed and waited for the doctor to arrive, and in less than 5 minutes, he stood in front of me, panting for air. When I observe his state, I smirk. "Come," he followed me. He was ready to approach her when she began screaming again. "Don't come near me," she screamed as he came to a halt. "I'll just check on your condition, and I promise I'll never hurt you," she shook her head with fear in her eyes. "Please don't," she began weeping. I'm not sure why, but seeing her weep bothers me more than it should. "She is afraid of men because of what happened to her. I believe it is best if the lady doctor examines her." "Well, then, what are you waiting for? Get the hell out of the room and call someone," he nodded in fear and rushed outside. I glanced at her without her noticing; she looked frail and afraid, and I hate that she feels that way. I know I can't undo her past, but I can attempt to make her future better. I will make her forget about her past and make her start her future with a smile on her face. Someone cleared their throat, jolting me out of my reverie. "She'll be here in a few minutes," I just nodded in response. She arrived in half an hour, as he predicted. They began discussing her situation amongst themselves. She then walked inside to see how she was doing, making us leave them alone in the room. We waited patiently for her to walk out. It was half an hour since she entered the room, and I was getting impatient. I want to go inside myself and figure out what's taking her so long. I was about to go inside when she walked out. "How is she?" I inquired as soon as she exited. "She is fine for the time being; her injuries are nearly healed. She is physically fit, but not psychologically. Because of what happened to her, she is afraid of men, and I advise you not to approach her for the time being, as she may have a panic attack. I'll give you some medication for it, and every time she has a panic attack, just give her this medication, and bring her to me. And I think she should see a psychiatrist about it. It will benefit her mentally," I nodded in response. "Here is my visiting card; please contact me if anything happens to her." I grabbed the card from her grasp. The doctors discussed between themselves before they started heading downstairs. I gazed through the opening in the door and saw her sleeping peacefully on my bed. She's like an angel who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I hope she recovers; I know whatever happened to her is hard to forget, but all I can hope for is that she returns to her normal self and forgets about her past. I want to watch her laugh and smile. I'm not sure what's going on with me, but there's a strange sensation within me that makes me care for her, but another part of me tells me that whatever I'm doing for her is because she's in this state because of my men, and it makes me responsible to treat her, and I am going to heal her. I was working in my office when I heard someone scream, and I knew exactly who it was. I dropped what I was doing and ran into her room, where she was sweating and screaming in her sleep. She was having a bad dream. I know the doctor told me not to approach her, but seeing her like this makes my legs work on their own, and I was beside her in no time. I shook her, but she didn't reply. "Please don't do this," she screamed once again. I hugged without thinking, something I had never done before with anybody in my life. "Shhhhhh, you're safe," I cooed, and she stopped screaming, gently opening her gorgeous eyes. She panicked when she saw me and began thrusting against me. "Please leave me alone," I hugged her tightly. "I will never hurt you, I promise". I tried to persuade her, but she refused, making things much more difficult. "Please don't touch me," she said softly. I broke our embrace and glanced at her beautiful face, which was wet with tears. "I'm not touching you see, now stop crying," I said as she nodded and brushed her tears away. We sat in peaceful silence for 5 minutes before gazing at the digital clock. "I'll go to my room and let you sleep," I said, standing up to go when she softly grasped my wrist. I glanced at her, surprised and perplexed. She was afraid a minute before because I was touching her, and now she is doing the same thing. When she saw my perplexed expression, she dropped her hands and looked down, completely embarrassed. "Do you need anything?" I asked. "I...Ca...could you stay?" Did I hear her correctly, or are my ears ringing? "I...I mean if you're comfortable," she pauses for a moment before continuing. "It...just whenever I close my eyes...I...a...see them...I have a feeling they'll take me there again. I'm just afraid of being alone in this big empty room. The darkness scared me, as if it would swallow me if I closed my eyes," she said, and her words melted my heart. I can't even put into words how I feel seeing her in this state. "Sure," I said, taking a chair and placing it alongside the bed before sitting. "I'll be here until you sleep," I exclaimed as she lay down on the bed and closed her eyes. I glanced at her, and before I realised it, my eyes closed and I fell asleep. (Harper P.O.V) I opened my eyes and glanced around; it was the same room as yesterday when everything from last night's occurrence flashed through my head. I blushed in embarrassment. How can I tell him to stay? I don’t even know his name and, on top of that, I don’t know how I ended up here. I know I am glad I ended up here rather than staying in the hell hole with two monsters. I looked beside me and found him sleeping soundly on the chair. He is an attractive man for sure, but I'm not sure what his reason is for saving me, and because of that, I can't trust him even though he let me stay here and gave me a medical treatment that I needed. I was staring at him when his eyes fluttered open and looked at me, making me look down on my lap, terrified of what he would do to me. Looking at my fearful face, he spoke as gently as possible. "Don’t be scared of me. I will never hurt you" 'How do I know you will never hurt' I wanted to say that, instead, I just nodded in his direction. He clears his throat when he doesn’t receive any verbal answer from me. "You can take a shower if you want," I don’t have any clothes with me, I thought. "I'll send a maid with some clothes for you," he said, reading my thoughts. I nodded once more. After returning my nod, he walked out of the room, leaving me with my thoughts.
