4. Flashback continues

Shuchi IS IN danger

Aditi saw her family in the hospital, who were approaching towards Shuchi’s room. She was already angry with the behavior shown by Vinay, and now she wanted to question her own family for not being there in the hospital with Shuchi. She went to her dad and mom. When Aditi’s family notices Aditi presence everyone was shocked to see her there.

Her dad asked: How come you are here? When did you come dear? Who told you about her and why you didn’t come home? You should have come with home; you shouldn’t be here like this.

Aditi said in an angry tone: Why dad, am I not allowed knowing about my own family member welfare, or you guys were planning to hide such big news. Why do you care about my presence, you should be happy that at least someone is here with her.  But looks like you are not at all happy and feeling ashamed with my presence. What’s a big deal if I came here directly? Obviously anyone would have done the same, in fact, I thought that you people might be here, but now I was very shocked to see that none of my family is here with Shuchi di. It was all outbursts by Aditi as by the end of her words as she was not only questioning, but was yelling to her family for becoming careless.

Never in her dream had she thought that her dad will do anything like that, he will become this much care less about his own daughter. How can any father do this with his daughter? She was blaming her father because she believed that whatever happened with Shuchi was not her husband’s fault, but also her father is also equally responsible for the condition of Shuchi.

Somewhere it was true because it is said that only a criminal is not responsible for his/her crime, but also the other people who are involved in hiding the crime and are not taking action against the crime are equally responsible.

She always had an impression about her father that he has always been the best in everything, and because of the same impression she thought that her father wouldn’t bear any violence against his daughters. But rarely did she know that this was just an impression which was created by her father to earn respect in society. It was all a good show created by her father.

Mr. S.P. Rai was angry at Aditi with the tone she was using while blaming her family, according to him it is not a good sign in society if a girl raises her voice.

So he shouted on Aditi- How dare you talk to us like that, never ever talk to your parents like this, and understand? Who the hell are you and moreover, why did you come, we were here to handle all this, you shouldn’t be here. You really don’t need to. So better you go home and take rest, we will let you know if there will be anything important.

Aditi: Wow Dad, just great.. Look at you, how can you be so calm when Shuchi di is in this condition?

S.P.Rai: it’s not that big deal, you don’t need to be so hyper, and we elder are here to take care of everything. So go home now.. It’s my order, you understand?

Aditi: Who elder’s you are talking about? Shuchi’s in-laws or you or mom? None of you were here when I reached... How can you behave like this? I am not going anywhere; I have complete right to know what had happened to her?

You know what I am feeling disgusted with the person who is responsible for all this. You should talk to the doctor and also I think you should complain FIR regarding the situation..

THAAD… THAAD..

Before Aditi could complete her sentence she was slapped by her elder brother.. The slap was very hard which made her balance lose and she was almost about to fall on the ground when one person from behind made her stand properly..

Aditi was trembling, but not with fear, her whole body was shaking with anger. But the slap given by her brother made other people satisfied to stop the conversation. The happiest person standing there was Vinay, who was feeling satisfied with the behavior of Aditi’s brother.

The person stands behind Aditi asked her – “Are you okay dear?”

The man was around 30 years old or maybe above to that, but seems like he was very much into fitness and was having a masculine body to handle around 10 or more people at a time.

Aditi: Yes Sir, I am fine. Thanks..

Aditi without having fear in her eyes said to her brother: Enough of your drama Bro.. I am not Shuchi or Sandhya Di, who will bear all your tantrums.. Don’t try to raise your hand on me.. If you even try it for one more time, you won’t like the consequences..

Everyone was shocked to hear her reaction; no one expected that she will behave like this. It was a kind of insult to Mishra’s family and so her brother was hell angry with ADITI..

So, seeing her reaction her brother dragged her out of the hospital, though she was fighting to get rid of herself from her brother’s grip, but couldn't make it. Her brothers dragged her till parking and forcefully push her in the car and ask the driver to take her home.

On the way to home, she asked the driver – Mahesh uncle – is this a crime to support your sister, what am I doing is wrong?

Hearing her, Mahesh uncle said – no my child, it’s not a crime, what you are doing is right, and it takes a lot of strength to do so, but people in a small town can’t bear this strength that too taken by a girl. You know Shuchi daughter had suffered a lot as one of my friends works with her in laws house as their servant.  This marriage has done based on dowry, so obviously the result is as per the same. These people are very greedy people.

Aditi POV: 

I was never known that still people take dowry and behave as they are pride of having this, how could it be.. But we knew very well in a situation where we realize that what it means for a father.. But still I was not so happy with this proposal, though papa always used to discuss everything with me and Di (Sandhya) but this time it was only discussed with Di, and though she was also not happy but couldn't do or wait for any other proposal..

The same way I was sent to home forcefully, the same way I was asked to go back to Delhi and join the office. It was no use of having any further discussion on this as I was sent with one of my cousins. So I went back to Delhi but not before seeing Shuchi di in the hospital.   

I still remember her condition what I had seen in the hospital. I saw the domestic violence kind of scene or can say, the view of my sister was like a r**e Victim.. She was having bruises over her body.. Which people will say as love making rights or love bites? But it doesn't look like that.. So, immediately before leaving the hospital, I requested my parents to talk to the doctor and take her back to home. We had discussed with the doctor about the whole incident, she said that the patient is not ready for any more torture of s*x/physical intimation so, it's better for her to take at least 15 days rest, and also she said that we should report this to the police, but again society tantrums took place in my parents mind and they denied.. But luckily after Shuchi discharge, she was taken back to our home.

I asked my parents to talk to the boy/groom/husband of Shuchi.. But my Father denied saying that it's common in every relation and so it's their personal matter, we can't interfere in this.. This was the most shocking thing I got to know from my father because till now I used to believe that he is the person having the strength to stand against any wrong thing but no I was completely wrong... I came to know the double face character of my Father.. Came to know about few realities of my family-- 

1. My father also believes that you face/body color decide your destiny, you look matters a lot.. Doesn't matter you are on top of your career and world is praising you, but if you are a girl/women, you are supposed to be ready to sacrifice your life for the sake of society/ for the sake of tradition/ for the sake of value and culture of your family.. 

2. After marriage for a girl's life ends at her parents’ home.. No one has right to take the decision or stand or support to the girl from her parents' family. Doesn't matter what happens.. 

3. With all the faults you have to be with your husband and have to bear everything with him, you can't do anything against his wish or you will be thrown out of their society.. 

Wow.. What a great thought my family had and what a great parent I had.. Other than this in my favor of thought and process, there were a few more people like Diwedi uncle's family (though I never met them).. They were also trying to make my father understand and asked my father to take stand in this but Papa clearly denied them and in this whole scenario, I came to know that there are few people who are good or maybe they are also doing shows off like my parents, in this all process my parents sent my sister back to her in - law's place after 3 days at home stay.

After coming to office, I started trying to talk to Shuchi, but all my tries went in vein.. I was always cut by either her in-laws or her husband and finally one day I was instructed by my father not to call Shuchi as she is busy with her married life and she is happy there.. Happy my foot.. Who can be happy with an animal like him.. I know they are stopping me so, I decided to get someone who can help me to find Shuchi contact and after 2 weeks, I connect with the same cousin with whom I was sent back to Delhi. But the news I got to know shocked me again.. It's that - in one month of time Shuchi got admitted in the hospital more than 3 times and there has been some domestic violence done with her by her in-laws and husband. But see no one care about it, not even my own parents as the reason I came to know was - Shuchi asked my parents for separation from her husband.. She asked for divorce so they sent her back and started avoiding to take her calls and stopped talking to her..

So I decided to take stand for my sister, as my cousin helped me in this, so I knew that he will ask in return for something (as I was never in good terms with them so I know how selfish they are) but he said he will ask when it is needed.. Not money, but maybe some favor in future. So I asked him for help in return and said he can ask more favors as he need to help me for my sister.. 

Till that time I was sure about one thing that Shuchi Di's life was in danger, so I decided to go with her. I made up my mind to support her in all her situation and to support her decision if she wants to take a divorce and wanted to get separated.
