Vacation Before Work!!!

The first morning of vacation!! Yes,finally. So Mara and I are here in New York for our week long vacation. We have finally finished college, me with my MBA in Marketing and her MBA in International business. We have studied long and hard for four years, summers too! We both took a class or two in the summer to make sure we could graduate before we hit 23. We wanted to have a vacation with just Mara and me before we started working in our fields. The only thing is that I have accepted an offer for a job in Austin, Texas and Mara is going to run her family company back in California.

Today we have had a ball. We have made a mark on Times Square, now we both need some good dinner. So we are walking down the busy sidewalk and bam! some guy bumps into me and just keeps walking.

"Hey, You're excused" Tia yelled at the man's back, that just walked away as if she is not there.

"Are you talking to me?" The big guy turned around and yelled.

"Yeah I'm talking to you. You act like you didn't feel yourself bump against me. You overgrown tree stomp." Tia said back

"Where are your parents little girl?" He said looking around to see if someone was looking for her.

"My parents are in California, you big i***t. You can apologize to me, since it's me that you hit." Tia said putting her hands on her hips.

"Look, short stuff where is your parents so we can clear this up?" Kyle said.

"Look, my parents are not here because I'm an adult and you can talk to me. So let's hear my apology." Tia snapped.

He looked down at her, incredible that this short lady was trying to get all in his face except she is like a whole foot shorter then me. I kind of like her spunk though.

"Waiting on an apology, or are you just going to stand there starring at me? Tia said getting miffed.

He genuinely smiled at her "How old are you anyway, munchkin. Mylin, you think we can adopt her?" Kyle said laughing.

"Won't be so funny when I smack you into next week will it?" She said frowning at him.

"Okay, let's go with you're an adult, Why are you so angry?" He said sincerely.

"For some odd reason I don't like to be hit. Weird huh?" She said sarcasticly.

"Look for the sake of arguing, I apologize. I didn't see you there. " He said.

"You are excused. Have a good day" She turned around, grabbed Mara arm and continued on.

"Dude, did she just blow you off, after she made you apologize to her? Classic. I really like her. I want to be her friend." Mylin said laughing.

"So not funny Myles" Kyle said upset that she walked away like he wasn't there.

The girl had the nerve to make him apologize and then walk away like he wasn't there. To be perfectly honest she was very cute. I have to admire her spunk. Mylin is not helping with him laughing. She was cute, wonder what her story is.

"So I'm glad all of our meetings are done and we can relax...." Interrupted by the ringing phone.

"Hello. Hey dad."

"Ok, both of you there?" Micheal, their dad ask on speaker phone.

"Yes we are." They both answer.

"So, the lady has graduated and is on a short vacation in New York , when she comes back then Kyle you will meet her and get ready for your marriage." Michael said.

"Why am I supposed to marry this girl?" Kyle asked.

"Since you are the unmarried son and this girl likes guys and not girls, so your sister is out." Michael said in a dull tone.

"Dad, do I have too?" Kyle asked.

"Yes, it is your grandfather's pact with his best friend for them to end their feud. So you drew the genetic short straw and I'm sorry but this is what grandpa wished for one of you." Michael said.

" Ok." Kyle says.

"So enjoy the rest of your time in New York because when you get back you will be heading into marriage. See you when you get back. Love you sons."Michael says

"We love you too dad." as they hang up.

"Ok since this is your last man standing, we might as well have fun." Mylin said.

"I'm down for the best cause. What are we going to do? We have another week before we have to be back." Kyle said.

"How about we go see some shows, hit up the beach, maybe some nightlife. I am going home to Caroline and I want to be ready to see my wife" Mylin said smiling

" Ughhh, this is the first and last time I am doing this on this vacation. You know I'm not for the clubbing. Since this is New York and I'm not sure when I will be back I'm going to go, but this is the only time you get, any other parties or clubs you go without me. Do we have an agreement? Shake on it." Tia said.

"I want more party time. I have to be so uptight when I get back, I will agree if you add one more party or club. Please Tia, pretty please with sprinkles on top." She said approaching Tia.

"Ok fine. you get two parties or clubs and I'm done. I just want to catch a broadway show, tour the big apple and get in some sightseeing things." Tia said.

"Deal accepted" Mara said and they shook on it.

Both girls were dressed for partying. Mara in red and Tia in Blue. Which for them was opposite for them, usally at home Tia wore red to stand out and Mara wore blue to blend in with the party. Tia was usually rebelling because her family was really strict on her and Mara was blending in because she had lots of freedom. She was not micromanaged and controlled. Mara was staying home and going into the family business. Tonight was party night number one. Mara was going to have a ball and Tia was going to relax and plan her excape.

"Alright, Room Key?"

"Check"

"Condoms?"

"Check"

"Lipstick and make up to retouch?"

"Check"

"Staying together and not separating for eachother"

"Check"

"Ok, we stay together and don't over drink. We only have 12 bodyguards with us and in order to keep them off us we have to stay together. Mara are you listening?"

"Yes Tia. We stay together so they can't find us. IF we get separated they can easily find us."

"Okay, so what is the plan for tonight?"

"We are going to party at Locale NYC."

" You didn't book a VIP room did you? and no extravagance that will track us. Promise"

"I promise I will not do it on my own, but I will allow someone else to buy it for me." Mara said grinning.

"That you have no control over. So here we go."

They left the hotel and headed to the club, Tia decided not to drink but Mara ordered a s*x on the Beach to start.

They were having fun dancing together and talking. Tia saw someone approaching Mara, so when she went to pull Mara to her, someone grabbed her from behind and just then Mara stepped up to her. They both said at the same time, "It's someone behind you" Mara said sidewalk man is behind you" Tia said "So is one behind you" at this time the brothers turned the girls to face them, both brothers leaned down to say to the girls to come back to VIP with them.

Tia looked at Mara who was following the guy leading her already so she went behind Mara and up to the VIP. Tia wasn't mad as she is out of the madhouse that is the dance floor and the music is muted in this room and she was surprised since only the four of them were in there. Tia immediately sat down while she watched Mara dance with the other guy.

"So who are you?" Mara asked.

"My name is Kyle and that is my brother Mylin dancing with your friend. What's your name?" Kyle asked.

"My name is Tia"

"So where are you from Tia?"

"California"

"Really? Me too. You here for work?" He asked.

"No. Graduation trip. We just graduated and we are taking this week to celebrate before we have to be adults for real."

"That's great. I wish I had thought to do that. I went straight to work, but the good news is the company I work for is very flexible and I've been able to vacation as much as I want. We are here on busines but we wrapped up our business today so we now have four days to relax before we have to go home and give our update presentation."

"Nice." She said looking around.

"Let me ask you something."

"Sure."

"Why do you look like you'd rather be anywhere but here?"

"Because I would. Mara wanted to party but I'm not interested in this kind of thing. I'd rather sight see, I'd love to go visit the other burroughs, and Coney Island. I'd love to do a beach day. If I can just get Mara to go then I'd be happy."

" I have an idea. I know we don't really know eachother. Seems like my brother and Mara want the same thing and me and you want the same thing, how about you and me hang out and leave my brother and Mara together and we all get what we want, and bonus we have protection of knowing someone. What do you think?" Kyle asked.

" I like the idea, but how do I know he won't let something happen to Mara? Her parents will kill me if something happens to her. It sounds good but I don't want to risk either of us."

Just then Mylin and Mara sat next to them.

"What are you two talking about?" Mylin asked looking at his brother.

"I was actually trying to convince Tia that me and her should hang out and you and Mara should hang out, since you both want to party and we both want to sight see that we should trade with me taking care of Tia and you take care of Mara and we all get what we want. Tia is worried that something will happen to one of them and they have to explain to the parents."

"You really want to NYC party?" Mylin asked Mara.

"Yes, but Tia has a low tolerence for people and crowds so it's hard to get her to party." Mara said starring at Tia.

"I happen to like the idea. My brother is a killjoy too. I don't know how he and I have the same parents. He likes a quiet life and I love a good party, clubs are the best. What can I do to prove that I will protect your friend if you let her party with me?" Mylin said to Tia.

Tia looked at Mara.

"What are your thoughts. I say we do it. You can do the sightseeing thing and I can party, we can meet up everyday and do something together and split to do what we want. Keeping in contact via phone, no phones off." Mara said.

"I don't know."

"Come on Tia just once lets do something crazy. Please?"

"Ok Mara but what about our issue?"

" We both keep a low profile and we can do it."

" Are you in trouble?" Both brothers asked at the same time.

"No, just trying to avoid some family friends whoare also here on vacation." Tia said hurriedly.

"Let's just do it, that way we both have fun. Please I won't ask anything more." Mara said with her hands clasped together.

"Fine. Just be careful. Remember the rules. Please keep an eye on my friend in public, she can be a loose cannon sometimes." Tia said smiliing.

"I will promise you that I will take care of your friend with my life."

" Are you single?" Tia asked.

"Actually I'm not. I'm happily married with one child and another on the way./ He pulled out his phone and showed them pictures of his wife and child, in full dad mode. Endlessly talking about his wife and child. Mara seemed to be very interested in what he was saying.

"Oh oh, you've unleashed the happy family man. Though his wife is not here, he is very devoted to Caroline, Sarah and soon to be Josh. He won't hit on your friend or let anything happen to her. The only time he parties is when he is away from his family. He keeps himself tight for his family to be the best father, protector and husband he can be. He is always on for his family. She will be just fine." Kyle said.

Mylin looked up. "You know, I kind of feel like you are my little sister Marylynn. I just want to protect both of you. It's really odd."

"Funny, I feel the same way." Tia said.

" I think we are at the beginning of a beautiful friendship." Mara said.
