Visiting her parents' home after almost two years made Anayra feel nostalgic, she missed them dearly and all the other things related to them. Yet she didn't get the courage to come back to India because she was scared.
She's scared of the memories which will be haunting her once she steps into her home. Scared of the things which she didn't want to face. Scared that she would have to wake up from her delusional that her husband is still there. When in reality he's gone.
Taking a deep breath, she walked slowly towards the door and not even a second passed by, her mother was already standing at the entrance with a wide smile and engulfs her into a bone-crushing hug immediately. Though she was taken aback, she hugged her back smiling happily. Her mother showers her with motherly kisses and the maid took no time to pick up her luggage.
"It's been like forever, I missed you so much. I thought you'd not come back at all." her mother Aliyah Raichand tells emotionally.
"Mom, I wouldn't have come here if not for you and dad who seemed to be so stubborn. Why did you call me anyway?" she asks her mother curiously.
"That's a story for some other time, get in now." her mother gushes as she took Anayra along with her into the living room.
Being the only daughter, Anayra was very much pampered and spoiled. And she doesn't mind it one bit. She loves getting all the love and affection of her loved ones.
"Well well, we have a lot to talk about. Go get freshen up and I'll let your dad know that you're back. I'll call you later for the lunch. We might have a family lunch who knows. Can't be sure though. Your dad is so busy with the elections and stuff." her mother babbles.
Akshay Raichand, father of Anayra is standing in the elections as a prime minister and they all know how much worried he's about winning the seat of PM. He's not the type who'd give up easily and so he's doing his level best to win the election resulting in taking so much stress.
"He is taking too much pressure, I'm sure he's going to win this election. If my instincts are true. Then it'd happen. Tell him not to worry." Anayra tried to cheer up her mother.
"I know, he's just taking way too much stress and I'm worried about his health. He had a stroke last week." her mother tells worryingly.
"Mom? You never told this to me," Anayra accused her mother angrily.
"That's because we thought not to stress you with our problems when you're already having your misery." her mother defends herself.
"But still. He's my dad. I deserved to know."
"Anayra, go get refreshed and I'll call you later, okay. I don't want to argue with you right now. We have a lot more important stuff to discuss." her mother tells making Anyra roll her eyes.
"Whatever mom," Anayra replies annoyed and walks to her room. She was simply furious because they hid such a big thing from her. She was his daughter and she deserves to know about his health after all.
She took no time to go to her room. It was still the same as how she has left it two years ago. The warm comfy mattress was the first thing that caught her eyes, she had the sudden urge to just lie on the bed and fall asleep but she has to take a shower and maybe as well fall asleep later on.
By the time she took her shower, it was already half-past eleven and she forgot to mention her mother about not having breakfast. Not wanting to face her wrath she took out her phone to order some pizza.
The wait for pizza felt like forever when in reality it was just half an hour probably, there was a knock at her door and she immediately got up from her bed excitedly to open her door.
And there stood her father standing with a smile and he was holding a pizza box, she couldn't care less about the pizza for all she cared about was her dad whom she's meeting after two long years. She took no time to hug him tightly and he managed to hug her back with a wide smile on his face.
"I missed you, dad," she mumbles as tears started flowing down her cheeks remembering her mother telling something about his stroke. She wouldn't be able to take it if anything dangerous happened to him and she never get to see him alive just like Ayan.
"I missed you too baby girl, missed you a lot," he tells lovingly while taking the pizza box inside her room. She follows him behind as they both sat on her bed.
"You didn't tell me about your health conditions." was the next thing she mumbles, he just chuckled.
"Doesn't matter. You're here talking to me and everything is going to be just fine too," he replied making her sigh in annoyance.
"You should not take so much stress, dad. It won't be too good. Look at your face. You're looking too tired already and it's just eleven-thirty in the morning." Anayra exclaimed angrily.
"I understand your concern sweet pie. I'll promise to take care of myself. But eat this pizza first. I bet you didn't have your breakfast? " it was more like a question and Anayra nods smiling sheepishly.
"What did I tell you about eating on time?" he asks with a stern and disapproving look.
She just shrugged and took the box from him and started eating her pizza. While her father kept looking at her adoringly.
"Take some rest sweet pie, we have a long day ahead." was the last thing her father says before he left the room.
Anayra wondered what might be running in his mind currently. She shrugged it off casually as she eats another slice of pizza.
If only she knew what was in store for her...
