Erik’s face turns red as hell. He glares over to Jake. Erik’s eyes instantly grow distant and cold as Jake runs his hands through his hair again. Jake is nervous, and it isn’t about the fact that Erik just lost his mate. Yea, I know about that too. It is too obvious.
Charles and Jake blow me away with them not seeing it. Then again, I have a knack for reading people. I always have.
