Sisters

1074 Words
Airmed I watched my sister move and flinch from everyone when we visited. She looked as though I had taken everything from her removing the drip. Belle stared out the window, watching something we couldn’t see. The grips of Aed is tight on her now. She can’t get past his hold. She has forgotten who she is. She now believes she is a human. That town boy, Grian, has taken a hold of my heart as he has been in my care. My father must not find out. We will take her home tomorrow. So she can be visited by Bec and Lén. Becs well will help her remember. She needs to gather her strength before Aed comes for her because he most definitely will. I have kept a close eye on Belle each night she has been here. She is afraid of the healers. Even me. Especially me. She thinks I am one of Aeds followers. She doesn’t realise we are trying to protect her. Whilst she has been in Cavan. Credihe, Goibhníu and Luchtaine have been busy. They have built swords, arrows, bows, shields and chariots. This is to assist in the battle with Darkness that is coming. My family and I have been battling the followers of Aed. We have been assisting the souls of the good people of Éire reach Tir na N’Óg. It is a hard and tiresome task. My brother Aengus Óg, never stopped looking for Caer. He knows she’s in Faoin Domhain. He cannot gain access as Cailleach will not grant him passage. The tendrils of darkness lick at the souls of mere mortals and they have changed sides. Badb can take care of that though. Tonight I’ll take a break and meet up with Aoibhell before we escort Belle home tomorrow. ‘I can’t explain it Aoibhell he’s just right for me, I know it’s f*******n so don’t even start!’ I exclaimed. ‘I wasn’t going to start’ she laughed as she threw a stone across the lake in front of Dian Cechts. ‘ I know he’s right for me, I can feel it Aoibhell’ I stated. ‘Maybe he is the one, we should visit Danu and ask her opinion before Belle gets back?’ questioned Aoibhell. I look to the moon taking in the navy night sky. The stars twinkle. ‘You’re right, we should go there now. I don't have to be back at the healers until the sky turns purple’ I said excitedly. As we glide across the ground we find a puca just outside the protective moss at the healers. Aoibhell begins to play her harp sounding a death to come. I take the puca head on. I lift the dew from the moss and throw it over the puca...it dissipates into the night sky. ‘Maybe it’ll be just one tonight’ I nervously laughed. ‘I’ll let you know when the harp pulls me towards it’ Aoibhell said re-assuring me. We walk across the green grass that separates us from Danus tree. It is lit with twinkling stars and the moon is ever glowing. Rhiannon must have had an inkling we’d visit Danu this night. ‘Airmid!! I believe you're having trouble with the romance’ claimed Danu as we got to the entrance way. ‘Oh nanny!! How did you know? Asked Airmid curiously. ‘Airmid, I am the goddess of all creation. It’s very hard to keep anything from me!’ Danu laughed as she danced around her living room pouring tea into tulips for us to drink. ‘Now, are you going to stand there with your capes on? Or are you going to join me for some figs and tea? Danu asked as she was setting the table with a plate of warm figs. ‘I was going to make an apple tart, but it’s your sister and Luctaine that likes them, not you two’ spoke Danu jokingly. Aoibhell and Airmid thanked Danu for her hospitality together. Airmid stares in Danus' glass case where Belles crown sits. ‘ Now, now, Airmid, let’s not think of that right now! Tell me about this boy, Grian isn’t it? Jeered Danu. ‘Yes Nanny, I simply can’t imagine a world where he’s not in it.’ I spoke frantically as I shoved a warm fig into my mouth and slurped on my tea. Aoibell pipped up ‘He’s human Danu, is it at all possible? All is possible child, however, you cannot be married until after your 21st sun cycle. Then you would have to relinquish your powers to Artio’ Danu said surely. ‘My powers really? Is there another way? I spoke quickly gasping on every word trying to swallow my tea. ‘There is another way. It would take a trip to Tir Na N’Og’ spoke Danu softly. ‘ You need to collect red everlasting Tulips like the one in Belles to create yourself a crown with the help of myself and Rhiannon that shouldn’t be a problem’ Danu said picking up Belles crown and showing myself & Aoibhell the intricate details in the flowers. It must stay encased in glass, it cannot touch the ground of this plane, it means you can keep your powers and grow old with Grian if you so wish or you can stay with us like this forever whatever you choose. Danu said sorrowfully as she looked at the hand drawn self portrait of the Dagda and his children over her fire. ‘ Would you really do that for me Danu?’ I asked, eyes wide. ‘Of course Airmed, We will help in any way we can, and if you’re sure of him, we’re sure of him. Grian is a nice good Irish name too’ spoke Danu blowing on her tea. Aoibhell and Airmed scoffed the figs and drank their fill of tea as the sky began to change. ‘I must go back to the healers’ exclaimed Airmed ‘Go children, I’ll cover you in white light for your trip home; Don’t forget to say hello to that boy for me’ Danu winked. She chuckled as she waved them off. ‘Well that went nicely’ said Aoibhell ‘Nicely Aoibh? Are you half mad? That was perfect!! I said excitedly. I hugged Aoibhell goodbye. I pull the grass to me on the green and wish myself to Dian Cechts tree. I walk up to Belles room. She's drooling on the moss. Typical. I thought.
