The Healing Tree

526 Words
‘Belle’ The door opens. I am sitting in my bedroom with Airmed over me. Airimid covered me in dirty rags and tied a wool around my neck. The chariot arrived. I scream. Brigid came for me. They put me in the chariot. We went to see Dian Cecht. He pokes and prods at me but I can’t speak and nothing is making sense. I know she’s here. I can feel her. Feel her in the pit of my stomach. The real me. The true me. I knew it from the beginning. I was bad. I gave myself to the world but they do not want it.I walk around quietly like I’m flying. I can't look over my shoulder because I’ll see my true self. The God of the underworld Faoin Domhan, Aed. I can feel him in my bones. He binds me to this plane. I scratch my body as I can feel the bee’s under my skin. I open my eyes searching for him. Godlike being from my dreams. He’s here to save me from myself. My eyes so bloodshot from lack of sleep. I can’t sleep. My head lull’s as I’m being dragged into the chariot. The chariot speeds to Dian Cecht’s. This place has always terrified me but now even more so. I'm being made to sit in a tree out of my comfort zone by my own mother. They call my name even though I can’t focus on the sounds. I can only focus on my escape. I was left scared unknowing while my whole world crumbled before me. Everything I ever cared about disappearing before me. They sat me on a bed trying to get me to focus I couldn’t, I knew she was somewhere here. I just can’t find her. They stuck needles in me draining me of my blood and they threw me on a mushroom and said wait. In the waiting room of life and I couldn’t get to my own glow. My bright white light. I felt the sparks dance across my fingers, but no flames. They jabbed me and told me no one could save me, not Lugh and not my brother. They took blood from both my arms and put the stickers of celtic symbols on my arms . They tainted my blood. They pulled on my lifeline pulling it out slowly I turned green and fainted. I woke back up in on a toadstool with my orange cape it. I woke up with people staring at me, My Father trying to find the source of the problem. I was marked for death now with my Aeds symbol and my drip. Hydrating me so I could just remember all the awful things I’d ever done. I keep on looking at the entrance way in the tree. The pain in my arm is magnified. I have to use the little goddesses room but I’m terrified I’d meet him. Not Lugh, not Danu. But that other one who is meant for me the darkness, Aed. The one I’ve been avoiding all these years. The man serving my father gives me a quilt. I try to sleep.
