Episode 5 Monday Evening

Night 5 Monday Evening Danny woke up with a start. He got out from behind the old moldy mattress. He picked up the pipe. He walked up the stairs slowly. When he reached the top, he crouched. Listening to the stillness of the sanitarium. A light breeze flowed through the broken front doors. Shadows conceal unknown dangers. He slowly walked down the corridors, seeing the graffiti writing on the walls. 666 and inverted pentagrams drawn on the walls. Frowning, he walked slowly. He was saddened. “How can you live like this? Who chooses to live like this?” He asked. A voice in the dark answered. “Who walks these hallowed halls, killing people?” From the shadows jumped two men. Danny swung the pipe, hitting one in the head. Instantly killing him. Danny screamed and ran. “Get him. Get that little asshole.” The second man chased him. Danny threw the pipe. It hit him in the knee. The assailant fell, impaling himself on a large shard of glass. His screams of pain filled the sanitarium. Danny ran out the door, jumping off the top steps and landing badly. He sprained his ankle. “Oh, s**t, this is a death sentence for sure.” He hobbled over the dead patches of grass. From behind old rusty playground equipment came another guy. Danny yelled. “Yell louder kid. No one can hear you scream.” The guy rushed Danny, grabbing his shirt. Thinking fast Danny punched him in the throat. The man fell gasping for breath. Danny tried to run, but the man grabbed his hurt ankle. Yelling in pain, he used his other foot and slammed it down on the man's throat. The man turned blue, dying slowly. He let go of Danny's ankle. Looking left and right, he saw the front gates. He started running towards the entrance. He ran under the archways, up the road. Running down the broken and cracked pavement. The road started going toward the right. As Danny rounded the trees he saw a chain link fence. It was closed and locked. A man jumped out of the shadows, grabbing Danny. “Don't struggle, you'll just make it worse.” He said. Danny stepped on his foot and pushed him away. Danny started running back toward the asylum. In the way stood the other guy who wanted him captured. Danny skidded to a stop. “Look. Okay, I'm not morally upstanding. I think I killed a kid once. Now I'm living by the rules.” Both the men got closer. The one that ordered Danny captured spoke. “Rules? Are you dumb or plain stupid boy?” Danny fell to the ground. “You can't... kill... me. I learned my lesson. I didn't do drugs, I'm still a virgin. I obeyed every horror movie rule, damn it.” The men surrounded Danny. “You little f*****g s**t. You actually think this is some horror movie?” Danny sobbed. “You... killed... my... friends. You... killed... my... scoutmaster.” Danny sobbed. “Look, we didn't kill your friends. We never touched those kids. We're not monsters.” Danny sobbed. “Wha... What about the scoutmaster?” The man sat down. “Every f*****g year.” Danny looked up at the man with tears in his eyes. “My name is Dr. Abraham Colder.” He sat next to Danny. “Every year the scouts bring a group of boys to our asylum.” Danny stopped sobbing. “Every year they come here?” Abraham shook his head. “Yes, they run a muck on the ground. They kill our residents.” Danny sobbed, asking. “Bu... but why?” Abraham put his arm around Danny. “Here's the short story. When you guys came here, we decided to kill the scoutmaster. We wanted to talk to you guys before you started killing us.” Danny interrupted. “Why did you try to kill us?” Abraham looked at Danny sternly. “Did we kill your friends or did they kill themselves out of f*****g sheer stupidity? Did you see us kill anyone?” Danny shook his head. “Yes, you killed Stan.” Abraham got up. “That kid was dying, he was just going to suffer. I checked his pulse. It was slowing.” Danny looked sad. “What about the others then? Huh. Where are the bodies? Did you make Stan stew?” Abraham got mad. “No, we didn't, you sick bastard. Every cook worth his salt knows you have to marinade the meat for a day.” Grabbing Danny by the back of the neck. “Every year you come here and pull your s**t. You kill us for fun. You sick bastards.” Danny cringed. “I'm sick? What goes on in that f****d up head of your doctor? You eat people.” Abraham smiled wickedly. “Yes, we do a necessary evil. You kill for what?” Danny started dragging his heels. “I... kill... for... merit badges. Time to earn one for stabbing.” He removed a sharp stone from his sock. He started stabbing the other man. The sharp rock cut into his hand. Abraham grabbed the bleeding man. He looked at Abraham. “Stop him. Please stop that little asshole.” Abraham felt the life leave the man. He ran after Danny. “Come here you evil, foul motherfucker.” Danny limped to the asylum. As he made it to the stairs he fell. Looking at the entrance of the asylum, he couldn't believe his eyes. At the top of the stairs stood a group of children. They looked at Danny. “What do... what do you want?” The children smiled. “We are hungry. We want dinner.” They walked down the steps. Danny got up balling his fists. “I guess it's f*****g go time you little sons of bitches.” He started running toward the kids. Time slowed. He pulled back. As he swung, he stopped all of a sudden. Looking down, he saw blood. That's when he felt a red hot pain, heard the gunshot, and watched the blood hit the kids. As they licked it off their faces, the kids rushed to Danny as he fell. They ripped off his shirt, cutting off patches of skin. He screamed. He felt intense pain. “Now kids.” Smiled Abraham. “If you eat too fast your stomachs will hurt.” He grabbed the barely alive Danny by his foot-dragging him into the sanitarium. “This one will make a good pot pie. Imagine his stupid ass thinking this was a horror movie.” The kids all laughed. “You're silly Doctor Colder.” From under Danny's scout uniform his badge sash. One of the children picked it up. Smiled and put it on. “Doctor Colder. Look at me. I'm a scout too.” The child laughed.
