Scouts Honor Episode #3

1079 Words
Night #3 Saturday The five remaining boys had run all night. They stopped during daybreak to sleep. Once again the sun was setting, but the clouds started rolling in. A huge storm was coming. Thunder shook the valley. Flashes of lightning as well. The air buzzed with the chirping of insects. The air itself was warm and inviting. Steve called them into a huddle. “Look, we are f****d beyond f****d. We can't run all night again. With this storm, we need a proper shelter.” Danny nodded. “Yes, I agree. It's the best thing we can do. We just have to follow the rules.” Steve looked at each of them. “Together we can make it. Let's just follow these stupid rules.” They all nodded. “Fine,” Brandon and Brain remarked. They started walking. It started raining harder, the winds howling, lightning flashes, and thunder so loud it hurt the scout's ears. They came to a clearing. In that clearing, they saw a cabin. They entered it. Danny sat in a corner shivering. He looked up. “Look, we can't light a fire. It almost reminds me of Afternoon of the Dead. This group of people was trapped in a house where zombies tried to eat them. That's why we can't light a fire.” Stan smiled and took a silver sheet. “A boy scout is always prepared. Sleep well losers.” Brandon and Brain walked over to Stan. They both reached over and grabbed the silver sheet. All three started fighting. Very soon, fists started flying. All three were bleeding. Danny looked at them calmly saying, “Will you shut the f**k up? Those killers are going to hear us.” Steve walked up to Danny. “Your tripping no way those people followed us and are remote close. We are stronger, faster, and younger.” The two twins looked at Steve. “f**k this, Steve is right.” Said Brandon. “Brain and I are going to start a fire. Danny, you can freeze your balls off.” Lightning flashed. The twins broke wooden furniture into piles. They noticed jars of liquid. Opening one up, it smelled of shine. They splashed it carelessly on the wood. Stan took out a waterproof match from his dad's handmade zombie survival kit. He struck the match. The fire roared to life. The four boys sat around the fire. “You guys are making a big mistake. Just watch.” They looked at Danny. “What are you looking for?” Asked Steve.” Danny smiled. “Oh, I don't know. A secret f*****g exit. This is like the worst cliche in any horror movie. They will find us and kill us.” Brain laughed. “Don't be such a b***h boy.” They all laughed. Soon they had fallen asleep. Banging at the windows woke them all up. As Brandon and Brain got up, their feet smashed through the floor. “Oh f**k wake up. They found us.” As Steve, Stan, and Danny looked horrified, the shutters on the windows started giving way. “It's like I f*****g told you ass holes. We are so fucked.” Steve bent over trying to free the twins. “What do we do? You're both stuck.” The bangs got louder. “I know what I'm going to do." Replied Danny. He started searching shelves, dropping and breaking the moonshine-filled bottles. The liquid spread to the fire. “Aha,” he said. Pulling a bookshelf to him, it opened, and as he turned to look at the twins, two things happened. The liquid caught flame and started a fire trail throughout the cabin. The door also opened. In rushed the group of killers. They surrounded the twins as the three boys ran off. They watched from the forest edge as they heard the twins scream and the house burned down. They saw the killers carry off the twins' blood-drenched bodies. The three boys ran as fast as they could. They stopped in a tree-covered area. Steve turned to the other two. “f**k. f**k. Fuck.” Screamed Steve. “Danny, what the f**k is going on?” Danny smiled. “Oh, I don't know. This isn't a horror movie. This is real f*****g life. Remember that?” Steve smiled. “Yes, I do. That was then, this is now.” Stan sat down. “You guys can argue or we can decide on how to survive this shit.” Steve looked at Stan. “What do you mean survive?” Stan looked at them both. “Look, this isn't a zombie apocalypse but it is an emergency. We need to pull together. This is like survival of the fittest. I don't plan on being anyone's f*****g meal.” Danny looked at them both. “The most important thing is simple. No drugs, no s*x. If we skip using those things, we will survive. There are rules to this s**t. If there weren't rules, there would be anarchy. The stars wouldn't shine and the sun would turn black.” Steve looked at them both. “Okay. Danny has the horror movie mastered and Stan, you know how to survive. I am the best at scouts. Let's take it to these motherfuckers out. Stan, you gather supplies. Danny, you think about what other rules there are, and I'll build the traps. We are too far from civilization to make a run. We have to try to last until this damned weekend is up.” Stan smiled. “Guys, it's Sunday morning.. Tomorrow is Monday. They will be looking for us.” Steve and Stan smiled. Danny looked at them. “Yes, normally that would normally be true. It's a four-day weekend. Monday is a holiday. We are beyond totally screwed.” Stan stood up. “It's just two more days and nights. We can do this if we pull together.” Danny smiled weakly. “I guess so long as we follow the rules. I'll try to remember anything else. It shouldn't be too hard. Usually, the most morally upstanding person makes it out alive. We should be okay.” Steve sighed. “Well, we have to get ready. We have to stop running and make a stand.” Stan smiled too. “We got this.” Together they agreed. That day they slept in peace. Each tossing and turning as little snippets of nightmares flooded their dreams.
