James grabs him by his arm, “wait, I will go first and if everything is ok I will come back out again.”
“Are you crazy? What if something is wrong? Who is going to take care of your kid?” Emce asks before pulling away from James and stepping into the darkness.
Emily and James wait for about two minutes before Emily starts to panic, “I am going in.”
“No, wait! Your brother would want you to be safe,” James holds her back.
“What if he needs us?” Emily says on the brink of hysteria.
Before James could respond someone stepped into the hall from the darkness followed by a few more.
“Nothing but the usual,” Emce says when he also steps back in.
James takes a deep breath, relieved, “let’s go then.”
